I think a lot of Michigan fans are overrating Westphal a little bit because he seems really interested in coming to Ann Arbor.  I think we should remember that the coaches have talked to him about playing slot corner, and he's a thicker kid who lacks a little bit of speed.  He's a good football player and I'm not anti-Westphal, but he's not really an elite (aka top 100) talent.  I think #213 is probably a pretty good spot for him, although I haven't watched film of all the other 212 guys ahead of him.

I'm not one for a bias opinion, watching his film I see a guy who is a great open field tackler who can get physical. I honestly see him as a more recent day woodson playing the nickel, blitzing, safety, and playing in the box. in no way am I comparing him to woodson I'm just saying I could see him playing a similar type role as Woodson esp seeing how much Mattison likes playing in the nickel. Now for the negatives he doesnt seem to have great top end speed, hip, and he doesnt look like he plays the ball well when its in the air

If you listen to recruits, it's pretty clear that Michigan plays fast and loose with the Woodson card. Every year there seems to be a handful of guys who make some statement along the lines of, "Coach said I could become the next Woodson!"

To be honest, I'm surprised it gets kids so excited; most of them were 0-2 years old when Woodson won the Hesiman.

Landing Westphal, Troy Vincent, and Adoree Jackson would take a little bit of the sting out of Webb going to Columbus, no? Doles, Cole, and Bars I can see us landing, Prince, Bauer, or Talamaivao, or Jones would be a good way to round out the next top line class, too.

Another note:  not a ton of pro-style QB's this year.  Good amount of dual-threats but it seems like a pretty big down year for pro-style QB's.  Speight may climb if he gets into some camps as he has been pretty limited with scouting last year.
