Rivalry Record: Ok I have a question

Submitted by WingsNWolverines on

Since 2010 was vacated wouldn't we be 1-1 in the new decade? Or does a new coaching staff change the score in the rivalry currently between UM and OSU in this decade?

The answer is officially 2010 was vacated but most importantly, to those of us older and who lived through Woody/Earle/Coop/Tress/Fick/Urbs

WE HAVE BEEN BEATEN 10/11 years, sanctions or no.

UNACCEPTABLE.

We cannot accept that since Hoke arrived "Gee, it's 1-1 now". .. IMHO.

We must Win, Win, Win.

It's heartbreaking to think people view every year like a clean slate. Cause over 90% of the time for 11 years now it's been a horribe 364 days.

what happened in the 2000s is over. That decade is in the past. One thing I can't stand about our fan base is how we dwell on past games and losses. What matters is NOW and in my book (and I don't count 2010 either) we are 1-1 in this new decade. I'm not sold for a minute of all this talk from them of "urban dominating from now on." Once Hoke has the right players in with this offense Michigan will be rolling again hell he's bringing in a top 5 class next year. Yes it sucks and yes Tressel has dominated us but the bottom line is he's gone and Urban is here and Meyer won a game today in which we basically handed the game over to him. Turnovers and bad play calling gave OSU this victory. Michigan beat themselves and next year we'll  deliver the favor and pay em back in the Big House. People need to stop acting like its a lost cause. Ohio St had a cupcake schedule this year and earned shit wins that meant nothing, We lost to two possible national championship teams. In my book for a rebuilding year Michigan did alright. Next year and 2014 we will be awesome.

A rivalry is a rivalry.

Every man is entitled to his own opinion...

But in  my book a rivalry is a rivalry.

If you want to play long-ball and count ALL the years, then we have to look at how we stunk it up recently.

10/11.

We must do better.

BTW, i will give them that sanction win cause I want the Fab Five banners back.

To me I feel like Hoke should be more out in the open about "The Game" and what it means.  in his pressers he just talks about how fun it is..  I mean yea its fun but i wanna hear him get mean and fire up the fanbase more.  I'm sick of losing to Ohio.  I'm sick of it!  I think Hoke has this program in the right direction but you're right.. a rivalry is a rivalry.  We haven't won a game in the snakepit for 12 years! 12 years!  Bo wouldn't stand for this and neither should Hoke.  Brady needs to make this game more important.  Tressel made it a priority and I want a coach thats gonna do the same.  This is UNACCEPTABLE.  10/11 YEARS LOSING??? you gotta be effin kidding me!  This game is always the biggest of the year and the coaching staff needs to treat it that way.  Ohio does... the days when we could push them off as a scrub team are over.  Hoke and co.  need to make it a mission to wipe the floor with these stinkin butt guys.

The series record is officially 58-44-6 now. However, vacated games do not take away losses for the teams that lost. It only takes away the win from the team that won.

In my personal record book I update after every season, I refuse to list the score of the 2010 game because it doesn't count in the series despite the loss counting against Michigan.

Am I one of the only fans that doesn't accept losing?  I think the Rich Rod years lowered a lot of people's expectations.  Do you remember the 90's?  The fact that we didn't make it to the Rose Bowl in this years weak Big Ten is really embarrassing.

Lowering your expectations is the only logical thing to do. Our roster was a clusterfuck when Hoke took over, especially considering what he wanted to do in term of his philosophy on offense and defense. What are your expectations? Undefeated every year regardless of circumstances? I don't think anybody is happy with losing, but your post is ignorant and asinine. But what should I expect from an idiot that posts "am I the only fan that doesn't accept losing"? Fucking joke.

Three to five loss seasons were the norm under Carr from 1995 to 2007. In 10 of his 13 seasons Michigan had 3 or more losses.  He also lost 6 of his last 7 to Ohio.  Years like this one are not something out of the ordinary unfortunately.
