I would guess unnecessary money to do so. Then you have the weather conditions. Even if a perfect day there would be some wind. Then how many fans would actually go.

I could see Michigan trying to pull this off for Midnight Madness, but I mean, it's October/November and it's still football season AND it's likely cold as all heck.

And it's basketball, you can't sit a million miles a way and have a good seat. If you put the court at midfield everyone would be using binoculars to see.
