I don't remember a graph of the last year of riot statuses being there when I first discovered that site after they lost to UNC last season.

Good to know they're making improvements.

If it's good enough for Scout, I guess it's good enough for MgoBlog.

Some original material would be fitting for a board so full of "Michigan Graduates" LOLZ

Yes, I fail to see why a real-estate agent in Omaha who moonlights as a 17 year old female on Myspace, who, also, did not graduate from Michigan, is so concerned.

his comments were a variety of actual topic material and minor trolling comments. like 7:1. and then he got pissy. likely just an MSU fan who decided to all out troll after the loss.

I just had to take a little stroll over to Facebook to see if any of my friends had hanged themselves yet. I'm from Lansing, and the overwhelming majority of them are Spartan fans. And for the record, about 99.9% of them are NOT alumni (surprise, surprise). To see them bitching is sweet but annoying. Like they deserved to win after committing 20 turnovers. That's karma for Spartan Bob, AND 12 men on the field. Eat it. Hopefully, this is just one of many dong punches coming their way.

yea you know you have hit a low when you take joy in trolling facebook statuses from people you haven't talked to in years, just to comment "GO BUTLER" on anything MSU related.

But hey, I'll take it at this point in the year, I'm just glad I don't have to watch MSU ruin another national title game in Buckeye football fashion. It's a strange feeling as a Michigan fan, I imagine it's what a Michigan State fan feels like most of the time.

11:04 update:

The ACLU is on the scene and says they have witnessed at least 10 arrests but have seen nothing but professional conduct from the police. In a new use of technology, the police are taking digital images from their rooftop control post of people in the crowd breaking the law and texting those pictures down to officers on the ground so they can identify the person.

The size of the crowd is starting to swell as the second game is ending soon. Conditions on the ground are described by our reporter as “tense.”

12:18 am update:

The crowd has now turned hostile — throwing bottles at police officers going into the crowd to make arrests — and the police have formed a riot line in the middle of the street. The Michigan State Police have a tear gas launcher ready to go and also have industrial canisters of pepper spray at the ready. Sounds like things could turn ugly fast. The crowds are chanting obscenities at the police.

It would be the least meritorious riot in the history of Sparty. They have no reason to be pissed. The stars aligned just right for them to reach the Final Four; their team played tough the last few weeks; their team represented the conference and the state well; they've been here before; no student on campus was around for the ostensible "excuses" for the last riots (banning alcohol on Munn, etc.). Pull yourselves together, go home, and prepare to get blasted in the Big House this fall.

Sounds like the riot is over:

12:52 am update:

The police have moved in and begun dispersing the crowd, which seems to be following instructions and dispersing without any need for tear gas or pepper spray. There are small pockets of resistance at this point, but the crowd has dwindled down to around 1,000 people and shrinking.

Just because you didnt graduate from a school does not mean you cannot be a fan or cheer for them. The people that say that should be beaten. I have a degree from emu but i am the biggest michigan fan ever. Only because i love the schools tradition and how things are at michigan. SO PLEASE dont be ignorant and make a dumb comment like that again.

You call that a riot? Ugh, I expected more from my fellow Spartys. I fully expected them to start a couple of fires, maybe smash a few storefronts, then blame the police 6 months later in the paper by saying they "escalated" the event from peaceful, grass-roots celebration of a good season into the disgusting display of drunken stupidity that you see on the news.
