Is RichRod flipping the bird to Rosenberg and Snyder ?

Submitted by TraderG7 on
Am actually sorry to draw attention to it, but it is enough of a coincidence to mention. Check out the opening video of the press conference on Tuesday. Is this a subtle or subliminal "fuck you" to Rosenberg and Snyder? Click the link below, the video is on the right side. RichRod is clearly itching his head at the start of the video, with his middle finger. http://www.freep.com/article/20100223/SPORTS06/100223022/1054/SPORTS06/… Aside: Was Rosenberg and Snyder in the audience ?

I don't go to freep.com, I don't go to freep.com, I don't go to freep.com. I'm not sure how many ways I can say it. Re: my comment - like I said, people do that all the time. If the video evidence (that no, I will not see because I don't go to freep.com, I don't go....) actually shows something crazy dramatic and worth commenting on (and the Freep itself didn't point it out), I'll buy you lunch. But you have to come to Chicago for it.

I recently read a book on body language and one of the things they talked about was how people sometimes subconsciously flip the bird in uncomfortable situations around people they don't like in this exact manner. Take it with a grain of salt, however, since it probably means nothing and there is no way we will ever know.

Classy of them to continue to stick Jim Schaefer's name on these articles. Basically saying "fuck you, we don't give a shit what bias you accuse us of, we're going to continue our campaign against UM and Rodriguez and there isn't anything you can do to stop us."

Um, "being too emotionally wrapped up" and "not being serious" are two completely opposite processes. You can't be both. Although when it comes to being emotionally wrapped up in something, I guess you'd be the expert. Here, just for you Magnus, for the record: I do not actually want Rich Rodriguez to harm Michael Rosenberg, Mark Snyder, or anybody else with any sort of weapon. My previous post was entirely in jest, and should have been interpreted as such. I apologize for any confusion that may have been caused.

Generally, it's uncouth to joke about killing people. I know you're super pissed off that Morgan Trent exercised his freedom of speech and that Archie Collins is hijacking every potential Michigan recruit and that Rosenberg/Snyder tricked our freshmen into spilling the beans, but it sort of crosses a line when you get into "These people should be murdered" territory. But never mind. I'm the emotional one.

I didn't use the words "kill" or "murder." I like the strawman you slipped in there, too. Very nice. I'll be sure to check in with you in the future regarding every joke that comes to mind. Gotta make sure the PC police signs off on it, especially when they're saying I said something I didn't actually say...

I'm sorry. When you said "shot," I should have assumed you meant "shot in the foot" or something like that. Because...you know...people usually shoot other people just to hurt them a little bit, not actually kill them. In the future, I'll ask for clarification about which body parts you want "shot" before I criticize.

I love how I'm seen as the "negative" one when I've been asking people not to make personal attacks on Morgan Trent and asking people not to talk about shooting journalists. Yep. That makes complete sense. I'm serious. I find this hilarious.

actually i'm referring to you going all Wu Tang on people's asses simply bc of this or that. the fuck trent meme is dumb but you're going WAY beyond a simple rebuke. i came on here drunk the other night and was blown away by how off the deep end you were going. like 13 responses to one idiot bc he was... an idiot... type shit. for someone who thinks they're above stupid shit, you sure as hell find yourself in the thick of the arguments with people you think have zero argument to offer.

Hey, I'm not perfect. Sometimes I get into pointless discussions. Regardless, how is that being "negative"? If you can give me a good explanation as to why saying "Talking about shooting journalists crosses the line" is negative, then perhaps I'll agree with you. Hey, I've been negbanged before for having strong opinions. I strongly supported Brandon Minor's campaign to be the starting running back in 2008, and he turned out to be the best runner on the team by far. I told everybody to calm down when the board had a meltdown over Shavodrick Beaver's decommitment, and we ended up with Denard Robinson. I might defend my opinions a little too much sometimes, but generally, I think you'll find that I'm pretty level-headed. As a fan, I tend not to get too high or too low. I could learn some restraint from some people on the board, but there are plenty of people on this board who get a little too emotional and start saying crazier stuff than me. At least I keep my comments centered in reality.

I'm going to shock myself and vehemently defend Magnus here. First, he's always a tireless debater. He's responding to all points because he always does. He's not "going off the deep-end", he's being Magnus. Second, he's right. You're acting like he's nuts when he's the one person that kept a level head about the Trent shit. Who cares what the fuck Trent says? Is it changing the fact we're being hit with charges? The Free Press' treatment of us? No. So let it go. People are getting legitimately angry and upset about this, and he's saying "Woah...chill," and HE'S being accused of going overboard? Please.

i have no problem with him being right or correcting shit. i only made the comment because i've seen at least 4-5 threads over as many days clogged with him getting into trivial debates with people he very obviously thinks are beneath him, all the while playing a game of 'lulz you care so much you keep replying' chicken. it's just tiresome.

if he was saying "whoa, chill" i wouldn't have made the point. when he spent what looked like 2-3 hours calling people various forms of 'asshats' and attempting to overzealously condescend anything remotely objectionable in one night... that's when i say he went all Raekwon and Ghostface Killah. to be completely honest, i think you didn't see the thread i'm referring to. dude LOST it.

For the record, I rarely call people names. I tell them why I think they're wrong, but calling people names is unproductive and childish. If you notice, in this thread I told TOB exactly what I thought was inappropriate about his comment. Nowhere did it devolve into simple name calling. In the other thread you're talking about, once again, I criticized what people were saying. Maybe you thought I was "going nuts" BECAUSE you were drunk, because I was actually being rational compared to many of the posters.
