How many of these threads are we gonna need?
landing spot. will be interesting to see how he does.
How many of these threads are we gonna need?
This is funny, lighten up.
we need these threads more than we need more thread police
"Such a fine line, between 'clever' and 'stupid'."
But I laughed.
BUT RITA ISN'T WEARING THE ARIZONA HAT. SHE DOESN'T UNDERSTAND U of A TRADITION WHERE ALL PEOPLE WEAR THOSE HATS.
There is no hat big enough to accomodate her big hair.
...have her going to Tulane.
And how about jeans for the AD...
He looks happy and excited. Very nice to see.
Best of luck to him.
Is that his daughter on his right?
Yeah..shes like 14...creep
Need a DB coach!
... having just sat through the UCLA-Colorado game a few days ago, it occurred to me that Coach Rodriguez's defensive philosophy made him well suited for the Pac-12.
If he needs a db coach...
I hope he does awesome there. Expectations are certainly low enough that he's probably got a little more time than we gave him
All I know is, I have a new second favorite team.
Good Luck RichRod!
I will second that, good luck to the guy, hopefully he can find success once again.
Agreed...I wish him well.
Especially after reading Three and Out, I wholeheartedly agree. Good luck RichRod!
Pat Stansik is a funny man PERIOD.
Gerg killed it. Don't go away mad just go away. Personally I wish Rod the very best.
Damn. Sucks that he is in the PAC12. Late night games for us East Coasters make for rough sundays. I was hoping for an ACC, SEC or B12 team. Good Luck RR.
Think about those Oregon versus Arizona matchups down the road. With the tempo both will want to play at it could be epic.
Beat to it!
Awesome. I hope in due time he perennially destroys USC.
Here's to hoping that RichRod starts ciphoning some of Oregon's target recruits down south.
Recruit: "I really like Oregon's offense and coach said I could be a star."
RichRod: " Hey....I invented that offense! And have you seen the weather up there?"
Recruit: "Yeah, my Geography teacher says it rains a lot, but Phil Knight has invented a uniform that repels rain. And it comes in twelve different colors."
RichRod: "Have you seen our co-eds. This is Arizona Fergodsakes!"
Please run up the score on Lane Kiffin.
I'll take Brady Hoke's voice with a good finger point
Arizona - Oregon should be a fun game to watch for quite a while.
I wish him well (just not at our expense). But seriously. I hope for the AD's sake he had a conversation about his plans for the defense. I'd assume that RR learned his lesson and comes with a plan, but in the words of another RR, "Trust but verify."
Off-topic: Why is it that so many football coaches wear pleated khakis in an era where pleats are generally felt to be unfashionable?
they're coaches. The same guys who wear coaches shorts.
Hate the Belicheck influence, which Hoke has been photographed wearing.
Blame the NFL for forever trying to make money instead of letting coaches be classy ala '60s style NFL coaches. I've always viewed this as Belichek flipping off the brass and saying fine I will look like white trash.
There could be a potentially interesting Rose Bowl match-up somewhere down the line.
I'm sitting in class bored as hell and just bursted out laughing. Teachers furious.
Gerg snuck on the plane in Rich Rod's luggage.
GERG would never risk tussling his fine satin hair by squezzing himself into a piece of luggage.
This is great. Thanks for posting. He definitely needs a DC and I'm sure he knows it. I wonder whether Casteel is top of his list or if he would try to work with someone he had never had on staff before. I haven't heard whether Jon Tenuta or Randy Shannon ended up anywhere. Maybe he will reach out to them.
I'm sure his son is happy to spend his teenage years in AZ. There is lots of talent at U of A and Arizona St.
So what you're saying is that he's not still commited to Michigan for 2017?
this...damn I miss tempe.....Short shorts in January!!!!!
What happens to Barwis Methods in Plymouth, MI?
(Amusing sidenote - I accidentally ran into him in his subdivision during a storm once...no, I wouldn't f*ck with him)
Them anytime they aren't playing us.
Seems like he should be able to qualify academically at U of A. Any chances he becomes a wildcat?
he is going to walk on at Michigan.....
If Harbaugh was still at Stanford it could have left RR with an intriguing matchup
But the question remains: are Tony Gibson and Adam Braithwaite on the list?
check first presser for jihadist reporters
This is great. I wish he was coaching closer so I could see more games.
The "tradition" line in this post gets to me how completely stupid it is to have to learn traditions before you coach a football team. As is plainly seen in the "traditional helmet" (changed), the "traditional jersey" (changed), the "traditional band music" (changed). In my opinion you come in and you do it your way because that is the only way you know how and it has always worked.
If I were RR I would have told everyone that if given enough time we would have some great new traditions or at least a damn fine football team to cheer on.
I am so happy for RR and hopefully he can get the band back together (no GERG) for a great run in the Pac- 12.
"When it comes to the showdown they won't be there." -Daniel Plainview
Seconded. A class individual who got treated horribly by people I used to respect simply because he wasnt "one of them". And his behavior since his termination (again - pure class) speaks volumes for him as a MAN.
Rich really was a Michigan Man. Too bad people around here never saw it. I wish him nothing but the best.
I think Three and Out opened a lot of eyes. Everyone (including RichRod) has a LOT to learn from this whole ordeal.
Good luck, Coach Rod. Hoke Uber Alles.
I know things didn't work out here for him but he put in alot of work for our program.
I wish him the best and hope to see 'Zona on the rise.
so he can't leave Pittsburgh
also, i think RR should hire "His Dudeness". That guy is as relentless of a supporter as you can get.
I'm just learning how to use this iPad. Now who's this dudenees?.
If you have to ask, you wouldn't understand.
Best of luck Coach Rodriguez!
for coach RR!
An offensive genius and a truly classy man.
I will follow his career close and i hope he gets treated better out there than he ever did here.
Comitted or signed his LOI yet. Just sayin......
Add to list:
Head to about 3:25 in
Soooooo happy he is getting a DIV-I gig and will have the chance to coach at a program that will (hopefully) appreciate his genius and (hopefully) give him what he needs to succeed (most importantly, somewhere around $650K for a defensive coordinator).
Going to buy some Arizona gear in the near future and be watching another game on Saturdays.
Wish him all the best and I think we are going to be sorry we didn't give him the opportunity he deserved at UM.
Dreams of a Head Coach Hoke, DC Mattison, and OC RichRod dancing through my head. Can I get a "Hail Yeah"?!?!
Being serious, I hope RR does a great job in 'Zona and I will be pulling for them. We are in a new situation as Michigan fans in that we have a former coach out there coaching another school. It is new for us all.......er...at least if you were born in or after the 70's.
