I've seen worse (Freekbass and whatever that Ice Capades-esque thing was from Notre Dame, to name just a couple). Context is important here. Tuscon != Ann Arbor and, more important, UArizona != UMichigan. I'd like to know what the Wildcat fans think of the video.

Comparing Hoke to RichRod, I don't think the former is a highbrow type, but he has the situational awareness (I guess) that allows him to understand what will/won't work with that crowd.

What would they have dressed as?  Hipsters cruising the farmer's market?  Bro's "scouting" flag football games at the fraternities?  Or Freep writers digging through the coaches' trash cans looking for stories?

It's better than the first one, which isn't high praise, but, as go16blue pointed out, at least it's not so bad it's cringe worthy.

Just think, if he had stayed at Michigan longer, he might have done one of these for Michigan with factory workers or lumberjacks or something.

There's nothing that can be said on this blog about RichRod that hasn't already been said, but I wish him the best at Arizona. I think he got a bad break here in a lot of respects, but in the end, he dug his own grave by not being able to field a defense. As they say, winning cures all ails. Otherwise no one would ever hire Nick Saban for anything.

I'm extremely happy to have Hoke as our head man, and am even more happy that this particular era of Michigan football is in the rearview mirror.

Until RR takes defense much more seriously. Though in the PAC, having a good defense may not matter as much.

I know the '08 team did not have the talent of your typical Michigan team but the roster had more talent at the time then half the B1G teams. There was one good pro style QB but RR went all spread without having any spread QB. The '08 defense had the third best talent level in the conference. When you lose to a MAC team at home then you did not have your team ready to play!  6-6 was quite doable in '08.

RR wouldn't adjust his system to the talent. Hoke kept much of the spread and the D used a lot of deception because that's the talent he had.

The talent levels were comparable, but Hoke adapted. They might be equal preparers or game coaches with their type of talent (Hoke is 10x the recruiter) but Hoke knows how to coach all types of talent.

BCS coaching is about winning immediately. Your performance is your results.

of a coach who was both sabotaged and flawed from a Mcihigan perspective because the powers in charge then created the enviironment for disaster that engulfed him when his methods met disapproval and failure based on a lot of false assumptions and expectations about how Michigan plays football.

I like to focus on the fact that RR brought two of the most unlikely heroes to Michigan, players whose ability and personality, goes way beyond breaking the stereotype normally associated with players who've succeeded in the program. Denard Robinson and Jordan Kovacs would never have played at Michigan if not for RR. And they ended up becoming captains and two of the most popular players in program history. And I always will be grateful to RichRod for their connection to the program along with all of his recruits who have proudly represented the Maize and Blue, including your likely tri-captains for this season: Taylor Lewan, Devin Gardner and Thomas Gordon.

Hoke benefitted from having those guys on his roster. Remember who recruited them.

I thought we (M fans) have moved past RR by now, but apparently I was wrong. Why are some M fans still obsessed over a guy who was an awful coach for this program?

the ones who regularly read Brian Cook carefully, who bought a copy of Three and Out and studied it, and who have been closely following the program for at least 5 years if not 25 years or more; I thought those fans understood the situation with Rich Rodriguez better.
