Rich Rod on QBs Saturday

Rich Rod  said that he is going to get all three QBs playing time regardless of the score, what are your thoughts ?

I think you missed the point.

I don't think a coach should ever say "No matter what the score, I'm going to play all three quarterbacks."  Because if Michigan is in a dogfight the entire game, I don't want Gardner to take some snaps just because.  The game isn't about getting everybody experience - it's about winning.

Hopefully we go up by 30 at halftime and then Gardner and Forcier can get a couple series each, which would make all of this moot.

It is not like he signed a contract with the TV station that all 3 QB's will play or we forfeit all proceeds from the game.....

My guess is he has looked at BGSU's game film and is confident we put up 30points by half-time. It is a message to the team to say, "if you guys screw this up, it is going to make me look bad. DEFEND MY HONOR". something to that effect....

The Team...The Team...The Team.

How does the team get better? More experience for all, and less injuries. If UM is up by anywhere near 30 at half, Denard probably has a large amount of stats that will keep him in the heisman race and a feature on SportsCenter. I can't imagine that the BGSU will garner too much interest regardless unless it is a close game (which it sure as hell better not be.)

We should go into every game looking for a win.  In this instance, I like the notion of a "promise" that all three QB's will play, if it makes BGSU work on more schemes and prepare for more looks.

The interesting thing to me is that we might just find out how improved Tate is, too, behind this 2010 O-line and with the surrounding talent.  Denard Robinson might not be Michigan's only extravagantly talented QB.

Where did he say this?  I can't imagine it was that definitive.  If the score is tied throughout, there is no way that RR pulls the best player on our team off the field.  Don't see it.

Well, they better get in the game this week.  Otherwise, Rich Rod's going to be a real spot in the 4th quarter against OSU.  "Well, I don't want to do this, but I promised to play all three this season.  Better take Denard out..."

This is like one of those situations where a parent has to say they love all three of their kids equally, but there's an obvious favorite.

Right now, if it's a close game, the only way Tate sees time is as a punter. Seriously, he's prob the best we've got right now.

...followed by Random Parking Lot Guy, Kovacs, Vinopal, Dileo, Martin, Lewan, Campbell, Odoms, MRob's Abs, a strong tailwind, the cotton-pickin' maize and blue soul of Bob Ufer, Sheridan, Navarre, GERG, Angry Michigan Safety Hating God, Tacopants, and Gibbons/Broekhuizen.

In that order.

A truly awe-inspiring sight was watching Sam Sword kick field goals for Arthur Hill High School.  (He also played wide receiver.  So after the QB would thrown him the ball, Sword would cactch it and run it into the end zone, kick the extra point, and then go play defense.).

Even if you were jokingI love the idea of Tate being our short field punter. If we are anywhere on our side of the field, let Hagerup punt, if we are inside the opponents 20, kick a field goal. The based on distance on fourth down between the 20 and 50 we either put in Denard (say if the distance is 3 yards or less) or put in Tate (4 yards or more). Tate has shown he can hit an accurate punt 35 yards. He would also give us a fantastic opportunity to fake it anytime we felt like it and the opponent wouldn't be tipped off by a substitution.

That's pretty much been his mantra all along.  He keeps saying he wants to get all three playing time but we've seen how it's gone so far. He knows what he's doing if we aren't up by a couple of Td's he's not going to mess with what's worked so far. Have faith !!!!
