Rich Rod Presser tonight?

Submitted by mocomber on

ABC news in Metro Detroit this morning mentioned a presser by RR at 5 P.M. this evening. I am having trouble trying to find any details, but I didn't see it posted anywhere else.

End some speculation. End some speculation. End some speculation.

I don't even care which of the thousand speculations he ends, just please end one of them. Tell us JT Turner just wasn't into football at this level. Tell us Tate's tweaked his hamstring. Tell us the gold jerseys are being used in the night game against ND. Tell us anything.

I have some quotes from his upcoming press conference:

"I know this sounds like 'coach-speak' but it's not"

"The quarterbacks are splitting snaps 60-40"

"We hope to have at least 2 players at each positions that are ready to compete"

"Some guys still need to get into shape, nobody is in game shape yet, but we hope they are in 20 days"

"The players are starting to play faster"

"The NCAA asked us not to comment on the proceedings.  It went well, now we just have to wait for their findings.

good things from a number of players."

"There are a number of things we need to improve on."

"there is competition to start at every position."

"The plans to slip Greg Robinson a sedative and trade scalps with him while he's under are in motion."

"Whoops. Did I just say that out loud?"

"It'll probably be a couple of weeks into the season before we decide on the depth chart at a few positions."

"Tate's been in camp.  He's a little banged up, but he's been working hard... all three of them have been working hard."

"We've been making some plays in practice."

"It's the third year in the system, so players seem to be picking things up faster.  We've installed most of our offense."

"Randy Edsell is a punk.  There, I said it.  Whatcha gonna do about it, Randy?"

The presser time was moved to 6:15 due to some practice time changes.

As far as I know it's just one of his normal meetings with the media and not anything special.

varsityblue Overall level of play on the OL has to get better. RR hinted that Dorrestein and Huyge are holding onto tackle spots for now.

varsityblue More praise for Stonum: "He's had an outstanding camp so far." RR hasn't put any thought into #1 jersey since Braylon flap.

varsityblue Patrick Omameh said the offensive line has some of the best leadership on the team. Molk coming back is big for that.

varsityblue Omameh: Denard still has the speed and quickness, and has added knowledge of the playbook.

varsityblue Omameh also said both tackle spots seem open. Lewan, Huyge at LT; Dorrestein, Schofield, and Huyge at RT.

@jkatzenstein Rich Rod: only players wearing wings on their helmets will run out the tunnel this season. Must earn them.

@jkatzenstein Rich Rod on number of players without wings on helmet: "It's a team thing."

varsityblue Mike Martin talked about his competitions with David Molk - They challenge each other in the weight room and on the field.

varsityblue Martin also said the DLine has lots of ways to get to the QB. There won't be just one standout like Brandon Graham.

@jkatzenstein Omameh weighed in at 298 today, expecting to be 300 tomorrow. Came in at 251

@jkatzenstein G Patrick Omameh: O-line ahead in leadership, not necessarily performance

...have stopped.  Expect write ups from Tim here, Greg at MVictors.com.  Perhaps they'll use some video of this for tomorrow's countdown to kickoff?

No tweets from anyone from A2.com which seems odd.

Katzenstein was covering for Chengelis.
