Obi is a 6'9" center. Uncertain if he would have to sit out a year. Not new but in light of Horford news could he be a fit?
Rice's Sean Obi and Keith Washington to transfer according to reports
Obi is visiting Duke
I doubt he transfers to Duke with Jahlil Okafor coming in next year.
He has to sit out a year so no Okafor
Is he any good? I suppose if he's visiting Duke, he must have some skill.
11p and 9r per game on 59% shooting as a freshman. Worth a look, for sure.
Won't help us build depth this season. We need a grad transfer. I think we'd be alright with Mitch and Bielfeldt if no such grad transfer is available.
yeah but a big will be needed in 2015 and we arent in on any.
Next year we should have three 6'9"+ that is if McGary stays. Yeah Donnal and Doyle will need time to develop but surely by the end of the year they will contribute. If we need to GR3 to put in 5 minutes he is more than capable of doing it. We had a good year this year and I expect nothing less for next year.
once again, he has to sit out. i don't think mcgary and gr3 stay but obi would be for the year after.
Not necessarily, his coach left he could get a waiver
What happened to Stephen Zimmerman - was interested at one point. No longer?
Bielfeldt isn't very good. And McGary just missed the vast majority of a season with a bad back. If that happens again, Bielfeldt is your starter at the 5. (Or someone who hasn't played yet, like Donnal.) That's scary.
I mean seriously Rice is in a less than stellar part of Texas and they have never been known for basketball, so gain, why Rice?
something Rice is known for
Yeah, that and awesome halftime shows.
That part if Houston is really nice. And their academics are regularly rated top ten in US.
of another new thread, but just saw on nbadraft.net that Xavier F Justin Martin is graduating, then transferring. 6'6, 205 and averaged 11.7 PPG and 5.3 RPG, shot 37.3% from three. Hopefully he gives some consideration to heading north. Would be a good option as a SF and PF in times of need.
