Rest of season predictions

Submitted by michman79 on
Considering Hoke's road record and our two home games against Nebraska and OSU, what is a realistic outcome for the last 4 games? Road games in Iowa and Chicago. I can see it going anywhere from 0-4 to 3-1 unfortunately. Anyone who can sell me on 3-1 please do so.

Irrelevant.  Predictions won't make any difference because no one every knows which offense will show up.

Right now this team is as scary as: 3rd Down and 13 with a schizophrenic OC in which 80% of the time he'll run tackle over and 20% of the time try to air it out using max protection with only 1 WR.

Michigan will still:

  • Have the best football helmet design
  • Play in the biggest stadium
  • Sing one of the best fight songs
  • Be one of the top universities in the world
  • Be located in one of the best college towns
  • Be Michigan

I'm cool with that.

on how bad DG ego and body have been bruised. The entire team was punished badly today. They were out manned to the point I believe their will has been broken.

They now know they cannot win the Big Ten Championship. If they split the remaining four games considering their coaching handicaps that would be a considerable achievement. BTW, if DG cannot play or is playing hurt they will lose all four.

We need a big time coach and soon.

There are not many coaches I would want instead.  And I think very few, or none would leave their current jobs (in the NFL or NCAA).

Be careful what you wish for.

If you're interested, the latest Massy numbers pending update on Monday:

Nebraska

0.72

41 34
Northwestern

0.52

35 34
Iowa

0.43

28 31
Ohio St

0.29

37 44

So, the prediction here would be a lean win, two games that could likely go either way, and a likely loss.

LOL....suck would be my prediction. A lot of well's will be said as well.

This team and program is a joke right now. 0 for November is certainly possible. We wont win on the road and OSU is going to smash us. So that leaves Neb....and with our propensity to give up big plays and not block anyone, not sure why anyone see's a win in this team left on the schedule.

6-6 is more than possible, but everyone will blame youth again.

You do see the staff hauling in top recruiting classes don't you.  You do realize those don't pay off until at least 3 years down the road.

Just because you say youth isn't the reason doesn't make it so.  Anyone who watches college football knows that teams this young are going to struggle.

Staee anin't that greaa

Itr's just because our o line is absolute garbage.  We will beat Nebraska because their defense sucks and we will beat NW.  Iowa and Ohio are going to be losses unless FUNK is replaced nowon the bus ride home in which case we'll beat either Iowa or OSU but not both.

We'll lose to Ohio. I can see us losing to Iowa as well. We haven't performed well against competent defenses and have been inconsistent against poor teams, so who knows. I'd guess we go 2-2 over the next four games. This just isn't the year.

Fairly symmetric distribution. 1 most likely. 0 a bit more likely than 2 I'm afraid. As follows:
Iowa on road, & they're improving? = Probably loss.
Ohio state: just hoping to keep it close to marginally not too too embarrassing.
NU on road & Nebraska at home? Likely get one of those, but dropping both more likely than winning both.
About what I'd expected at start of season given too much inexperience (& "players left after the great purges of the post Carr era") scattered in bad places: lines, secondary. Notre dame win momentarily upped my estimate, but then we learned: nope. ND is pretty bad too. So a win or two more from here is about as expected or better for this team. Maybe 1 loss worse (the horror in happy valley)

1-3 for this inept staff. However, 0-4 wouldn't surprise me. Somebody will have to explain to me, how this staff is any different that what we saw under RR.  Oh wait... I know... RR wasn't Brandon's hire.
