Request: Please post videos throughout the day of the opening day scene in A2

Submitted by M-Dog on

You folks that are in Ann Arbor today are blessed.  You're in Mecca.  What I and the rest of the Michigan diaspora would not give to be there today.

Request:  Please post videos throughout the day of the opening day scene:  The tailgates, the frat parties, the drum-line show / band walk to the stadium, the Church street team walkthru, player warmups in the stadium, etc., etc.

Anything to help give those of us stuck in the desert a drink of what it feels like to be there today on opening day!!

Have not personally been to the scene in about 4 years, but I'll be back for the Nebraska game... So excited to say nonetheless... Also anyone in  Section 24 today, please post pictures, so I'm able to see what the view is like. Thanks.

Please please please. I'm like 1500 miles away, for the first time in a good 7 years I won't be going to the opening game, give me my fix I need it.

So, six hours before gametime is what it will take for row 1.  At least, that gives us a baseline.  It only looks like there's 20 people tops there right now.  If the thing is full in the next hour or so, then I'll apologize to the seniors for saying they were blowing things out of proportion.

However, it's looking like you'll be able to get plenty drunk before heading to the game.

An hour later, not a big difference.

True, it's CMU.  However, Game 1 is always one of the biggest crowds of the season, regardless of the oppoent.  So, I would say this could give us an "averageish" idea of how it will work.  Obviously for the PSU, MSU, OSU, NDs of the world, it will be different.

Yeah, noon games will really have fewer people lining up for shorter amounts of time, I would suspect.

Can someone who is not tailgating note how big the line is at 2pm?  That's when they'll let the students in, so I'd like to get an idea of how many people would be in front of you if you didn't want to wait in line, but were willing to walk into the stadium when it opened 90 minutes early.

And about 4 hours before kick it appears there's only about 50 people in line.  Can we safely say that current students drastically over-estimated the number of people willing to sit in line yet?

I was hoping to see some Photo and Video responses already. I am sure if this post was created yesterday, this would have been a huge success. Most that are going, are busy preparing and partaking in the days festivities. This should be requested next weekend as well.

Great request - please share your experiences with us living far (no, farther, farther... Korea) away.

Next weekend also - we'd all love to see video and pictures being posted throughout the day.  Best pic/video should make it to the front page.

Hey MGoBloggers, I'm in Chicago (in the Loop) ... Where should I go to catch the game? Where I would reliably find TVs tuned or switched to BTN for UM-CMU?
