Representing at the Friendly Confines
Having never been to Wrigley, my Dad took his "boys" to his first game this past Thursday, July 31.
Get-away game, so early start. We did the tour the Cubs offer prior to the game. Worth every penny. Recommend it to Wrigley first-timers and veterans alike. Sat in left field bleachers. 3-1 Cubs win. Old Style and Chicago dogs. Great father-son outing.
Wore a Michigan shirt and got several fist bumps, high fives and shouts of "Go Blue!" all day. Have always read about the strong Maize and Blue following in Chicago, so this was incredible to experience it firsthand. Other than while waiting in line for some more Old Style- taking shit from 2 Wisconsin fans (totally drunk), 1 Ohio fan (drooling mouth-breather) and 1 Staee fan (my own dad, I regretfully admit) at the same time- was a great day for Michigan and the Cubbies.
Certainly one of the many treasures in this fine city.
I couldn't see the pictures, but it looks like you tried to post a couple. The best way is typically to upload them to a file sharing service (I use Photobucket, but there are many such sites) and use the automatically generated HTML that they will use. If you post the images themselves, remember to post the code in plain text mode.
We try to get in a game at Wrigley whenever we go to visit my wife's extended family - it is indeed a lot of fun, in my opinion. Good to hear you had a great experience as well.
Fixed?
Where does one find Old Style in Wrigley these days? I was at a game last weekend, all I could track down was Bud and Bud Light. Why they ever thought it was a good idea to mess with that contract is beyond me...
I think that is a good thing...I have bad memories of Old Style shits from my days at Purdue...
I was at Wrigley for the first Cardinals series early in the season and I couldn't find Old Style as well. Just goose island and bud (both InBev brands).
stands behind the bleachers and under the scoreboard had Old Style.
The fact that regular seating cannot enter the bleacher area and vice versa may explain it. Maybe the bleacher seating is the only area of Wrigley selling it.
replaced old style for venders.
something about Lollapalooza.
Fitz and the Tantrums did the 7th inning stretch.
Were they there?
Don't know too much about them.
I am old.
the patio at vines beforehand. perfect weather, perfect outcome, perfect day.
"Hey Chicago what do you say..."
Glad you could enjoy your first time at Wrigley. I live a couple blocks down the street and try to get to a few games here and there, always a fun time.
