Reports: Woolfolk Injured

Submitted by kenfizzle on

If Troy Woolfolk were to encounter a season ending injury, which freshman would step up to fill the void at corner?

P.S. This probably happened.

EDIT: This did happen.

EDIT, EDIT: Sorry I brought it up in a dick way, but my source is about as reliable as it gets.

well, he's not a RS, so he can come back next year, correct?

We just need to win 7 games, damn-it and RR will get a another year.

EDIT: Apparently this just happened, and I'm sure the Doctors haven't had the time to run tests, scans, and interpret the results. So far, people think it looks really bad (these people are likely not orthopedists too).

I am about to lose any cred I have, but if it's true... f*ck it let Denard play corner. He is an incredible athlete, and he will do anything to help the team win. Yes I realize the implications of my words - suggesting that our probable starting quarterback be moved to corner but honestly where do we have decent depth: QB, where do we need depth: CB. I am kinda like Madden with Farve though, I think we would be better with shoelace at just about every position

Desperate times....call for desperate measures...

An idea so crazy...it might work.

This would kill any hope of Gardener redshirting, but what do we have to lose? I'm sure that fire under Forcier's ass has been sufficiently lit. Give him the steering wheel for another year.

I'll cheat and risk it.  But, the Sam is saying its an ankle, they're awaiting word on severity and it doesnt look good. The presumption throughout the boards on both pay sites is that its a season ended, but we'll see.

thats for those who cant see behind the curtain at those sites.

you are going to get clobbered by a rabid trombone quartet.

Fuck it, you're not worth the waste of the gold paint that would chip off the sides. But here's hoping your whole team breaks both femurs.

Edit: Is it finally time to see a good ol' ban on this d-bag? Since we're in freak out mode anyway? Man, you usually have at least some sense of decency on here.

We get a dianosis before we freak out. Don't get me wrong, this sucks but we do not know how bad it is and we do not know how long he is out. He could be back by big 10 play easily.

I was having a good day until I came to this thread. Good grief why do we always get punched in the gut when things start to turn rosy?

I put blame on Brian who about a week or so ago, claimed that we were having a nice gentle offseason. Not so nice anymore, is it?

No one kill themselves. No one eat a whole keg. No one smash their computers.

As has been said in the thread a few different places, this could be an extreme overreaction. There are several possibilities here. Someone could be trolling, someone could have mistaken Woolfolk for someone else, someone could have seen him twist it and go down, and thought "Oh Noes!" Someone could have even made a good play and said "Man, Troy, he just broke your ankles!" which was overheard and subsequently freaked out over.

Before we see any official diagnosis, there are a hundred scenarios that could be going on here. Many of them are nothing to freak out about. Some of them are bad, but still okay. The worst case, in which he would be out for the season, is almost impossible if we are actually talking about his ankle.

Like mmiicchhiiggaann said, unless his ankle was somehow severed off, he's likely back into things within 6 weeks. Much more likely than a break, he may have bruised or twisted it. In that case, he'll be fine before the season starts. It's really unlikely that he will need surgery on an injury he sustained in practice, on defense. Remember, he's hitting people, not the other way around.

I don't want to be a jerk...I'm just looking for reasons to hope you're wrong.  Is this the same source that told you Parker was a silent verbal?

Well, now someone has to step up big time.  I don't know how else to react.  I took a few deep breaths and waited to respond.  This is the most calm and rational thing I can think of.  Otherwise, I too want to bash my head on the table.

F. U. C. K.

I've had huge hopes for Buc Nasty being a serviceable 3rd corner this year and developing into an excellent DB down the line.

If this is all true, we need you now Buc!! Like, no pressure or anything...

when i was in college i hurt my ankle in basketball.  I, and everyone around me thought my leg was going to fall off.  I had a sprain and was fine.  Now, i wasn't there and no one else posting was, but we need to wait till we hear official word

Well, if it's going to happen, I guess it's better now, with three weeks to move people around and get them acclimated, than during the season itself.  I remember Ron Bellamy getting pressed into service at CB in the middle of his freshman season.  We're probably looking at a frosh WR doing likewise now.

Hopefully it's just a clever press tactic to make everyone think that Woolfolk is hurt. Then he comes out against UConn owning. Of course the same thing has been said about the wingless helmet on Tate. This sucks. Alcohol anyone?

I came here after a looong day really hoping to see something positive had happened, maybe brighten the day a bit. Yeah, so that happened.

I feel awful for Woolfolk, this sucks. I almost feel worse for corch though. Fuck.

I feel almost as bad for RR too. It was going to be hard enough to appease M fans this year, and now this. I think Brandon can see the big picture, but I don't know about most of our fanbase.
