Oh my GOD.  Which QB looked like Brady?  Do you know how many teams have thrown fewer than 2 picks against us?  CMU, Minnesota, UConn and MSU, though they each threw one.  Considering Minny's, UConn's and Central's QBs had fewer than 160 yards each, we can agree they did not look like Tom Brady.

Akron and ND dinked and dunked the hell out of us, but threw for a very low YPA and were each picked off twice.  Until the last drive and OT, Hackenberg was very un-Brady, and still finished with 6.9 YPA and 2 picks.  Indiana has looked fantastic throwing the ball against everyone, and again, we picked them off twice.  Connor Cook looked good, but 252 yards on 33 attempts with 1TD and 1 INT is not a great perfomance either.

So, outside of Indiana, nobody has really torn us up through the air, and even they had very imperfect games.  You pull out one stat line and tell me who we made look like Tom Brady.

Because he tossed up a prayer to the best receiver in the Big 10 and got his prayer answered?  Jesus Christ, get a grip people!  Hackenburg did everything he could to lose that game in overtime and we just pissed it away with bad play-calling and inexplicably poor kicking.

I hope Martinez gets better soon, at his best he is definitely one to worry about.

This also makes me wonder and hope that Gardner is okay after the beating he took

Yes, it's NEARLY impossible for us to win the B1G division, but MSU needs to go down three times. A miracle? Yes. But with a better healed Martinez at home, all things are possible given how he torched them last year.

I think the B1G title is pretty much out of reach at this point, regardless what happens between Neb. and State.  We might really be best off seeing State run the table from here, since we are realistically trying to compete with other conference also-rans for decent bowl invitations.

MSU is 5-0 in conference with Nebraska, Northwestern, and Minnesota left to play and they have to lose to ALL of them for us to have a shot at the division.  At this point we need to Ebola virus to get released in their locker room for us to have a chance at the BTCG.  We need to make our peace with the fact that our conference title hopes are over for this season and just work to salvage what we can.

If I remember right, Kenny Bell sat out most - if not all - of Saturday's game vs Northwestern. A quick Google search does not really pull up much. Has anyone read or heard anything regarding his status for this week's game? That would be another huge blow to the Nebraska offense.

Abdullah is the only player that scares me now. Slow him down (as in, if you have to pick him or Armstrong on a read option, go after Abdullah every time) and the game should be ours.

I thought Martinez had already missed several games and his back-ups have looked downright good at times. I'm not sure this is a Denard-to-Bellomy type swing of the pendulum

Armstrong was 6/18 for 43 yards against Purdue (PURDUE), and 15/29 for 173 yards (<6 yards per pass) with three picks.

Kellogg shredded South Dakota State and Purdue, but was 6/12 for 55 yards against Northwestern before that hail mary.

Bell, Abdullah, Enunwa...I would say the only dimension we can probably let rest is there won't be a QB who can torch us with his legs. I don't think we can let down for a second. Treat them like they are a desperate squad with a head coach in Year 6, and presumed by some to be on the bubble, trying to take advantage of another squad muddied and bloodied the week before. Treat Nebraska with high respect is my only point. Their fans love to travel, and while I find them extremely pleasant, they Will show up to support their team on the road.

We're in such disarray right now no game is going to be easy. I think some people have already forgotten Uconn and Akron. Show up and show out. We're in no position to take anyone lightly.

Great, we're screwed. Hopefully Brax doesn't do the same come the end of November. These back ups are scary. If only mad max could have been there last sat. We would have won 6-3.

do tend to have the games of their lives against us, at least this season. I'll bet Martinez wishes he was well enough to play this Saturday for that reason alone. In any case, hope he recovers quickly.

If Michigan can't beat Nebraska at home, this team is worse off than I thought they were.  There's also the bragging rights, since we won't be playing Nebraska for awhile, and I believe a Nebraska win would make us tied in our overall records against each other.

including Taylor Martinez and all-American lineman Spencer Long and all-B1G receiver Kenny Bell. Taylor has injuries to foot, shoulder, and hip and has been playing hurt since the opener, so we've using our 2nd and 3rd string QB's most of the season. No excuses, that's football, but all in all, 6-2's not bad.

Our D is very talented but very young, so inconsistent. Getting better. One thing they've done well is get turnovers, so hopefully that continues against DG.

Yes, most Nebraska fans expect a loss in AA ( and did in preseason even when handicapping at full strength), but the team is still playing to win the division and Michigan we know won't lay down because they're Michigan. Should be an exciting game, wish I could attend.

Also, appreciate the sportsmanship on this thread about Martinez being out, I expected no less from Michigan fans.

This shapes up perfectly for us. We win Saturday which sparks us to win our final 3. Nebraska gets Martinez back against State, beats them and then runs the table as well. State suffers a hangover the following week versus NW and we finish in a three way tie. Michigan finishes with the highest BCS ranking and goes to Indy.

sucks for Taylor, but I was really hoping for them to be at full strength. Now we get an asterisk next to this win (should we win) in the Freep articles that will undoubtedly come out. Coach Hoke, do you think this team would have won if say Martinez were in the game? Do you think you may have won by a bigger margin if this team was not beat down so badly by the Spartans last week? What do you make of this teams duel personality of playing so poorly on the road and ok @ home? The one thing I do worry about is if they (Nebraska) will just plug in another QB the way Wisconsin does and him becoming all Big Ten by the end of the game.
