Ward tore the meniscus in his right knee in January of his freshman year and then suffered a torn ACL in his left knee in December of his sophomore year. He was still a pretty good college player, but the injuries prevented him from living up to his high school hype.

In the spirit of the "Where Are They Now" diary, Ward now works as a trainer somewhere in the 734 area code through his company called JW Pro Ball.

...he was a great 3 point shooter though. After Michigan he went to various other leagues like CBA and ABA , but never made it to NBA. I knew he was a little overhyped when he first got to campus and walked into the CCRB during summer term...and lost to my team of 5'11 and under white dudes...and got pinned against the backboard by a 5'8 guy (who had albeit an incredible vertical) when he tried to dunk coming from the baseline.* *he was wearing Teva's during our pick-up game.

Dante is good, no doubt about it. But I don't honestly think anyone has him going top 3 in the NBA draft. I would love to see a mock draft where it has him going as the first pick, or heck even in the top 3. Parker, Wiggins, Randle, and Smart are almost without a doubt going before him.

Besides those I mentioned above all of these guys will potentially go before Exum; Joel Embiid, Gary Harris, Aaron Gordon, Noah Vonleh, and Rodney Hood. This list doesn't even include a guy like Zach LaVine who could be a top 5 guy too. If any of these guys come up big in the NCAA tournament, think Bradley Beal, then they'll move up too. I highly doubt Exum goes even top 5.

This doesn't even get into the fact of how short you're selling Webber. As far as Michigan guys go.

Why was his situation so bad?  I always thought that he had a good chance because he wouldn't be forced to play big minutes, could develop at a slower pace, and learn from a guy with a similar skill set (Sheed).

I do agree that the team's leaders later seemed unwilling to adapt or accept coaching (Rip, Sheed and even Prince).

he barely got PT at Euro and wasn't super productive even on limited minutes.  Dumars drafted him based on potential.  Switch Pistons with any other teams, Darko would still be #2 overall pick.

Not sure how he was thrown into a bad situation.  Darko was raw as hell and needed time for seasoning.  He was a bust based on expectation, but if he was drafted at late 1st round, he would have been a decent contributor.  He wasn't terrible but wasn't great either.

Getting Exum would be an insane pull. Yeah, he's probably going pro, but clearly he is considering the college experience if he's going to spend time visiting 5 colleges that are spread out throughout the country. Get it JB!
