Reminder: OT Season Ends In [30 Minutes!]

Submitted by LSAClassOf2000 on

This is probably one of the last visible reminders that anyone will see before the official end of OT Season in about (30 minutes).

At this point, you may as well not bother if you have an OT thread idea. Chances are that it will disappear sometime before tomorrow at lunch.

I know you're growing weary of these, but the more people I catch, the better, especially because the cutoff is not on a weekend this time.

when the season comes around again for your 'talking cars tuesday', you can do some threads for 'driving pet peeves' and 'most interesting ticket you received' or 'best ticket you ever got out of'

I like most of the OT threads, but I'm coming close to losing the little bit of sanity I have left. Is the submarine coming to the surface tomorrow, or is this place going to be a ghost town until next week?

A forum format which supported subdirectories or something like that would be very useful generally actually, even on the on-topic side of the house. Basketball news is going to start intermingling with football soon enough, and then in the late winter, you'll see baseball and softball and basketball on the forum simultaneously, as well as hockey through several other seasons. Being able to split it by sport would hopefully mitigate a lot of the giriping (usually expressed in the form of serial downvoting) that a vociferous few do about non-revenue coverage here, not to mention the "you didn't have to click on it, damnit" discussions.

I don't know, I kind of like the stream-of-consciousness we get on the board.  I think I found out we got Bin Laden on here.

If everything was in tight little boxes off to the side i know I would miss a lot of stuff.

People will always complain about something.  I wouldn't over-chase all the complaints.

A good solution might be if the board could show more than the 15 or so threads it shows on the first page.  Once something gets bumped to the second page, it dies pretty quickly.

Me neither.  You have to right click on the ">>" and do "open link in new tab".  But as soon as you look at a thread in the new tab, the new tab goes right back to the front page.  Fun stuff.

Like Beaver Stadium, you come to MGoBlog for sports content not aesthetics.

Oh man. My favorite periodic table was the huge one in 1800 Chem.

(Dammit, this would have made more sense as a reply to OT: The periodic table.)

I know the purpose of these off season and regular season rules but they indicate another issue.

The board needs an update that includes sticky topics. That way the admin and the mod discussion stays at the top and off topics are a non-issue.
