REMINDER: Open Practice For Students Tonight

Submitted by Tate on

Reminder that the football open practice is tonight from 7pm-10pm, with the gates opening at 6pm.

Not a student, so I will not be there, but I am hoping some of you will be able to take some notes or get some recordings for the rest of us - bring a pad of paper!

Have fun tonight.

And seriously, someone sneak in a camera.

What's Harbaugh's motive for this? Is it simply a matter of doing something nice for the students? Is it to have the players perform in front of an audience before the opener? Was it perhaps a compromise with the AD stemming from Harbaugh's desire for a submarine-style camp?

This was going to be a big event if Ath. Dept. had its way. But this is the Admiral telling the Sect. of the Navy what goes down on his sub. I expect under a 1000 for this years model.Last years open practice Brandon/Hoke had bleachers set up for the first x no. of students (I want to say 300) on the east side of the field and they were maybe 2/3 full.

The bizarre thing to me is that we never received an email from the Athletic Department about this. I think that a lot of people are not aware that it's happening, and it also doesn't help that so many are still away from campus. I'd guess that about half of seniors, a third of juniors and almost no underclassmen are currently on campus.

I unfortunately think there will be under 1,000 in attendance, but there will be at least 5 going in my group!

I think that's really dumb if it was actually their intention.

I'd rather have a few thousand students around than 300 football nerds. I'm a hardcore fan, but I can still appreciate the value people of different fandom levels bring.

I dont think this point is important either way, because both Harbaughs have now asked students to come/seem like they want as many there as possible, so I think you're wrong on their intent.
