Rematch with Bama

Submitted by MaizeRage89 on

Ok ay, so since we are only one game into the season and we only have 1 loss I am inclined to play the what if game....

Lets say Michigan wins out and only Bama is undefeated, do we deserve a rematch like Bama got against LSU? Better yet do we want to ever accept a rematch? Obviously yes if its for the MNC.

If we did get a rematch I would have to believe that our chances would have to greatly increase of us winning.

I dunno I'm bored and thought this would add some good debate and its not impossible for this scenario to happen.

Well lets start by beating AF this weekend!!!!

*edit* What... too soon....too soon???

Sooooo I guess my 2 post ever was a complete failure. But hey sometimes you gotta learn the hard way! Maybe I should just start a Friday night drinking thread next time.

The BSC would take a 1 loss USC, LSU, Oregon, and possibly another team or two like Oklahoma. We would need USC and Oregon to somehow magically find two losses which is incredibly unlikely. LSU likewise. A rematch this season is near, if not, impossible. Rescheduling them in 3ish years for a home and home is the only possibilty of playing, unless we have a shot at the NC sometime in the next couple of years.

I honestly can't see any possible scenario where anyone with a say would let that happen. Sure, I'd love to see us in the championship game, but I don't think so.

Our team is full of good guys, and I want us to go to a bowl game where the seniors have a shot of going out winning. Plus it spring boards nicely into next year. Even if it was the MNC game vs Bama I wouldn't want to get shalacked like that again. There is the possibility of it happening in anotherBCS game, or a bowl with SEC-B1G tie-ins.

If this happens I think we don't accept the rematch and we take our talents to the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl instead to get revenge against the Ohio Bobcats.

I want a rematch with Bama... And USC, Texas, Tennessee, Miss. St., Oregon, Arizona St., Utah (2014!), and Florida St (I was there in 1991... It was horrible)

On a funnier note, the Big12 and SEC have scheduled their own version of the Rose Bowl called the "Champions Bowl" where the Big 12 champion will ditch playing the big east champion or whatever easy bowl win they usually get scheduled for a thourough ass whooping at the hands of a team that plays defense, the Sec Champion. No more preseason top 10 rankings for you, Big 12, lmfao. Edit: Seriously. Big12 champs Oklahoma played Uconn 2 years ago and gets unranked 7-6 Iowa last year, while Nebraska was 4th in the B1G, ranked, and got top 10 South Carolina. Who matches these things up?

That's all great and everything but the Big 12 has held their own against the SEC much better than the Big 10 has. Texas barely lost a NC without their starting QB who was a Heisman contender. The Big Ten, at this point is not even close to the Big 12 at the top, in the middle, or at the bottom. Kansas is the only doormat in the league right now. The Big Ten has Indiana, Purdue, and Minnesota. The middle is awful relative to others' middle. Northwestern, Illinois and Iowa? Please. Put that against Baylor, KSU, TCU and you have a bloodbath. I would love to sit here and claim the Big Ten is a good conference, but they aren't and you will find no competetive evidence that they are. They get smacked around by the SEC nearly every time they play them. The Big 12 at least hangs in there because they can score some points.

This team will not be quite the same at the end of the season as at the beginning. O and D lines will gel, Linebackers will get used to their new assignments. Recievers will improve.

HOWEVA,

All that and a bag of chips still gets us whipped by at least two scores vs. Bama.
