Red Wings Game 7 Open Thread

Submitted by Fhshockey112002 on

Since the old one was buried I took the liberty to start a fresh one close to game time.

PS I refuse to label this OT. This is a game 7 and is very topical.

I'm feeling a lot better about their second period play. Plenty of Sharks icings (key in both a faceoff and a line change way), plenty of offensive zone play, and a goal. I'll take it.

The wings played detroit hockey in the second half/two thirds of that period. Controlled the puck in the offensive zone, played with a solid forecheck, and kept constant offensive pressure. This looked just like the entire game 6, hopefully we can keep it up and get a few more in the net in the third...and avoid taking any stupid penalties

Sometimes it just comes down to one thing: which team is getting to the loose pucks first? If one team can out-hustle another, it shows in hockey more than in any other sport. Even a casual observer can tell which team will (in most cases) win the game when the disparity in hustle is high. The first period went to the Sharks, the second period to the Wings. The Wings just have to get to the loose pucks first, out-hustle the Sharks, win the period, and they should win the game. It is that simple.

great last 10 or 12 minutes from the wings.

hope cleary is okay, but from the appearance of that hit, I don't expect he'll be back.

we're all set for another epic 3rd period comeback!

Mickey about just dropping the damn puck. No wonder so many guys are getting thrown out of the faceoff, seems guys are getting antsy when they hold it hold for so long.

Red Wings dominated that period, still going to be a tall order to win missing that much up front. They have to get the next goal, that is for sure.

Still pissed that there was no call on that hook on Filpula, that such an obvious penalty. Negated a possible scoring chance.

I'm pulling my hair out.  At least they out shot the Sharks and won more battles on the boards.  Need to dominate the Sharks in the 3rd.

First Couture hits the post, Howard makes a great save around the net, and then BOOM! Heatly gets Kronwall'd... AGAIN!

The slash HAS to be called in that situation, but Holmstrom got flat-out ABUSED twice during the power play and not even a second glance from the zebras.
