Red Wings Game 7 Open Thread

Submitted by Fhshockey112002 on

Since the old one was buried I took the liberty to start a fresh one close to game time.

PS I refuse to label this OT. This is a game 7 and is very topical.

I think Darren Helm is underrated.

Which is saying something because many people rightfully hold him in high regard.

But he's still underrated.  if that's possible.

oh look, it's debbie downer again

you do this every year, whether it's the wings or the wolverines. there's a lot of hockey to be played in this game. If you think a 2 goal lead in today's NHL is safe, you don't watch enough hockey.

Still two periods to go and maybe San Jose starts running and hiding with the lead.  But man, those last two PPs looked horrible, and against an embellishing team like the Sharks you don't get a whole lot of shots with the man advantage.

You see all that gray scum that forms on the ice?  Those are the dissolved ions in the water precipitating into that solid gray slush.  I curled for a while at a place that had to use city tap water for its ice, and gray slush was an issue for us as well, as well as getting the texture of the surface of the ice exactly right, and keeping the rubber foot rests that were mounted into the ice firmly attached to the ice.

period there. That was a horrible turnover by Hank, they have made more dumb passes than I can count inside there own zone in the games at the Shark Tank. They weren't doing that in the two games at the Joe.

And to add insult to injury, Bertuzzi went off with an injury. Really need big bodies to combat San Jose's size up front.

It has not been pretty....Howard is being left out to dry with the effort in their zone. Yes he should be great but with the talent he has around him they should not get dominated in the zone like they are now.

Like someone said earlier it looks like Detroit was on a 20 min penalty kill to start the game.
