The Red Wedding Game vs. The Scar Game

Submitted by MeanJoe07 on

I propose that we call that thing that happened last night one of two options. Add it to the list along with "The Horror" and the rest. Then we can just say that to refer to it and move the fuck on as quickly as possibly and never have to describe the details.

Option #1: The Red Wedding Game
I won't post a video for obvious reasons.

Option #2: The Scar Game
Mufassa-"Help me brother!" Scar-"Long. Live. The king"
You can Google this because I also consider it to be too graphic, but it also fits bc well . . . James Earl Jones voice plus the "brother" thing.  I'd also rather get thrown off a cliff into stampeding wildebeests than re live last night.

Here's to moving on today, laughter, happy thoughts AND home made hangover cures!

EDIT:  I also think "Darkest Timeline Game"  fits.

I'm going to get drunk again and just try to forget that Sparty was about to lose and then got some grace from a higher power. That's all I have to hang on to.

I usually like to wait a few days before attaching a comedic/amusing moniker to a horrible event (hoping to find an ounce of joviality in the infinite darkness). That said, your two named candidates are both acceptable.

I'm not sure why we need to tag the whole game. It was a play. Sure it affected the outcome of the game, but reducing it to one play gives it less power. Games are won and lost with effort and skill. But occasional bad plays happen. This was a fluke. It was one bad play.

You think about the good! Move on!

I am thinking a lot about the good today! Sparty is still being disrepected on the sports networks, that is so good! Got to sting a little! Sparty got a Victory, but it is still being said that Michigan was the better team on the field. I don't feel bad for you Sparty!

Michigan has a better football team than I expected at the beginnning of the season! They are taking the field and playing some damn good football!

The season is not over with no bowl! We have some games in front of us and an opportunity to spoil a season for that team to the south!

We have Coach Harbaugh!

Go Blue! We live to fight another day!

In his first season as Michigan's head football coach, Bennie Oosterbaan beat Michigan State 13-7 in East Lansing in Michigan's opening game of the season on September 25, 1948. Michigan then went undefeated that year.

Since that year, each of Oosterbaan's successors – Bump Elliott, Bo Schembechler, Gary Moeller, Lloyd Carr, Rich Rodriguez, Brady Hoke and Jim Harbaugh – has lost to Michigan State in their first season as Michigan’s head football coach.
