Recruits visiting for WMU?

Submitted by turd ferguson on

Apologies if I've missed this somewhere, but do we have a semi-complete and updated list of who's coming tomorrow?  I've heard names like Greg Garmon and Amara Darboh, but I'm not sure that those were confirmed.

At some point, it'd be fun to see a list of the Notre Dame visitors, too.

Kenny already has a prefered walk-on offer from Michigan. He's a darn good combo prospect too. At his game last night he kicked a 45 yard game winning field that would have been good from 55. His longest punt was 58 yards and he had another punt get downed at the 1.

Kenny goes to my old High School, and had missed a 37 yard field goal earlier in the game.  He was quoted as saying something along the lines of "a good kicker can get past a miss and my range is in the 50's so a 45 yarder is a chip shot if I do what I know how to."

Love to see the confidence from a high school kicker who seems to have real talent.

Well I guess that makes two Fentonians on the blog!

Yeah he has confidence and he's a great kid and very respectful, in that interview you're talking about he credits his snapper and holder too. And he's always out on the field practicing in the offseason, he has a great work ethic.

And that first missed field goal was a chip shot that barely missed. It wasn't a shank by any means. He hits that 6 inches more inside and its a successful kick.

McGary will be at Duke next weekend and will be attending the Duke-Stanford football game at that "basketball school." This is SOP for basketball recruits visiting a school on the weekend during football season. The reverse happens during basketball season, when football recruits routinely attend basketball games on their visits.

A side note on McGary: It turns out he'll be able to take official visits to all six of his finalists because of his status as a post-graduate. He's taking three official visits to Michigan, North Carolina, and Duke in the next week before he begins his post-graduate year, so those visits count toward the five he could take during his senior year of high school. The NCAA also allows post-grads to take five more officials but not before October 15. So, if he wants to, he could also set up official visits to Kentucky, Florida, and Maryland, but those visits will have to take place no earlier than October 15. See this annarbor.com article.
