i've bought those tickets on ebay before, second row to the field. guess where the tickets get mailed from yep thats right columbus, ohio, so i think the problem is them having season tickets, which isn't that bit of a far reach, if they sell all their tickets, which their is a marketplace for, to the other games it covers the price for the season tickets

We'll get updates in due time. Obviously an ideal scenario would have been an exciting win. However, we were very competitive in this game which bodes well for us b/c it gives them a glimpse of what this system and this team can and will be with more experience. They saw compelling evidence for the real potential for M to be a great program once again under RR, so, from a recruiting standpoint that is a positive to take away from today.

Outside of the stadium being all red, I'm sure the great game, loud atmosphere and 111,000 fans had a great impact on the guys considering M. We lost, but played a great game and our potential for the next few years should be clear to those recruits. Had the weather been crappy, or had we gotten smoked it would be worse, but I bet this game was good fofr recruiting, despite the score.

Yeah, but I think recruits know Michigan isn't a tropical state. Good weather for a visit just makes the overall morale higher. When I was in high school I visited Purdue on a college visit. It was a beautiful day, and even though I was very familiar with Indiana's weather, it still made my visit a lot more fun.

We need to recruit like mad men right now. The current roster, even with another year of experience, is still not very good. True, recruits could take two years to contribute, but our pipeline is pretty empty. Need to fill the pipeline ASAP. Especially on defense.

No one ever likes to miss a bowl game, but with this team still in the building stages with such a premium put on recruiting, the silver lining is that our coaches will have a lot more time to spend on the recruiting trail than other coaches. Hopefully that pays dividends.

I thought I heard a lot of booing while I was watching at home. And it was at times of gameplay that didn't make sense to me. Can anyone at the game shed some light on this? Were those Buckeye fans booing or Michigan fans?

It looked like there was way to many OSU fans. A game like this, we should of made it a point to maize it out. Quit letting so many opponent fans get into the games. If you watch the Suckeyes or Penn St at home, there is usually a small section dedicated to the opponent. Thats the way it should be at the BIG HOUSE. That is our house, lets make it seem that way.

Did a great job for Michigan during Gameday. Their head guy said Rich Rod got screwed with no talent on the team and that he needs 1-2 yrs to get it fully turned around. Then he said we were looking strong for recruiting. Best thing they have ever done for UM.

This might be a silly newb-type question... but How much of the visit is the actual game? How long are recruits actually on campus? How important is the final score of the game? I'm sure it's different for each recruit but all I know about recruiting is the video game version....

Usually recruits are on campus from Saturday morning until Sunday afternoons. Most official visits take place during the football season, so a lot of these official visits occur the day after a Friday night game. The final score of the game has proven not to be that important. The most important things seem to be the atmosphere, the teammates, and seeing how each recruit can fit himself into the system. These kids know the team's record and such, so it's not like one victory will make them think a 3-9 team is great or one loss will make them think a 10-2 team is horrible.

and it was pathetic how many osu fans were there. I've been to at least 30+ games and I've never seen so many opposing fans in the big house. there were numerous times you could hear O H I O chant which was pathetic. at the end of the game when we were losing and people were filing out, osu looked to be the only people there. if I was a recruit on the fence I don't think this atmosphere would have made the decision earlier. also, the crowd was fairly quiet. I was at the nd game and it was much much louder. it seemed like the crowd expected a loss and didn't have much to cheer about going in. honestly not a top notch performance fromthe fans

I don't recall any specifically. the O H I O chant would usually start dyring tv timeouts when we were on offense so the crowd to drown them out would make any noise it could. I think that's what most of the boos were. at one point it seemed like the crowd MAY have booed denard though it could have been the ohio chant.

Ok, but do recruits realize that? For all we know all they heard were boos, and not the Ohio chants. I mean, if you wnat to drown out the Ohio chant, why the need to boo it... it's not difficult, for crying out loud, jump up and down and say "oooooooooooooooooooh" like student sections do at every other college sporting event. Why does it need to be a boo? I just don't like the fact that out of all the things that could have been done to try and drown out the Ohio chant, the fans at the game chose the one thing that could be percieved by the recruits as being unsupportive of the team.
