There was the report two or three weeks ago that he told a local paper he was going to be starting off in the secondary. Does anyone know if the coaches are planning on using him as a free safety, a strong safety or a corner?
Recruiting gurus - Conelius Jones' starting position?
em0, how are you? Did you enjoy your 2 hours away?
I would assume he's more of a SS (deep safety) in this defense. But I believe he's still coming in as a QB first and then he'll go from there. That article didn't have quotes from him at his position.
I recognize that writing style! It's k06em01! Welcome back buddy, we've missed you!
I'm pretty sure you have a Rivals subscription, and if you do, you would know that Rivals still calls him a quarterback. They're more guru-like than anyone you'll probably find on here.
If you don't have a Rivals subscription...well...they still call him a quarterback.
But I hope you're enjoying your ability to make posts against, k06em01. I wonder how long this privilege will last...
and the coaches told him the last time he was up here that he is coming in as a FS first. He may ultimately end up at OLB, and that may be his best position, but point is the Rivals classification isn't necessarily the same as the coaches' intentions.
Rivals (as in the national recruiting site) has Marvin Robinson listed as an OLB.
The Wolverine (as in the Michigan-centric recruiting site) has Conelius Jones listed as a quarterback on its "Offensive Hot Board."
I missed that distinction you were making. My apologies.
It's pretty common knowledge around here that he's going to play DB at the next level. I think, from what I have seen, that he could play QB, but has a better shot at actually being productive at another position. At his size he would make a monster safety. He really is a lot bigger than the size listed on his recruiting profiles at Scout and Rivals.
Seriously? A negative from someone for saying what I said in this post? Normally I could care less, but in this instance I would LOVE to hear the explanation for that! Haha.
dont bother, these people are complete morons.
You put The Knowledge to shame, kill em' with kindness! I don't understand the Miracle of you starting a thread with negative points. The Mods really do love you.
think you are addicted to the internet or have something actually wrong with you. For some reason, you NEED this place. Just stop. By the way, who is responsible for giving this idiot 20+ points? He was banned just hours ago. Can't we IP ban him or something?
My amateur diagnosis: Asperger's Syndrome and a heavy dose of Bipolar Disorder.
he received a significant upvote from his eleven other accounts.
Asperger's? Hahaha. I can really appreciate that joke. Carry on.
I asked TomVH a while back and he said:
Me: @TomVH where are we recruiting Jones to play, qb or db??
RT @TomVH: @Me both, they like his athletic ability, so they'll try him at a few positions, mainly qb and db
eh. not too concrete.
or Left Guard.
On your mark... get set... BARWIS.
You are a scourge upon this site.
yeah, this was such a terrible thread, it wasted 1/4 of the room on the front page as the 4 tiger cheating on his wife threads.
here's some advice...if you dont like the post...dont read it...dont respond to it...and dont bump it to the top of the page. but you're all too f-ing stupid to ever be able to understand that, aren't you? yes.
regardless, morons aside, thank you to those with actual input. i was wondering if the coaches thought he had enough speed to play corner...or enough tackling ability to play safety...sounds like its going to be a rolling experiment.
"i was wondering if the coaches thought he had enough speed to play corner...or enough tackling ability to play safety...sounds like its going to be a rolling experiment."
I don't think anyone, even the coaches, know whether he has enough tackling ability to play safety. He's never actually played on the defensive side of the ball. No matter where he ends up he is raw potential (and I mean raw), since he has only played two years of organized football, with both years being at QB.
