The Recruiting Game!!!

Since today is 12/02/08 and 12+2+8=22 and 22*4.54(repeating) = 100 i figured it would be the perfect day to give a 0-100% chance on getting some of these highly recruited prospects 1. WR Rueben Randle 2. WR Jamal Patterson 3. WR Bryce Mcneal (i'm assuming close to 0%) 4. OT Taylor Lewan 5. OT Travis Bond 6. DE Pernell McPhee 7. DE Jason Ankrah 8. LB Jelani Jenkins 9. CB Dre KirkPatrick (doubtful I'm assuming) 10.CB Jayron Hosley 11.DT William Campbell 12.ATH Denard Robinson 13. M beats OSU next year thanks for playing the recruiting game! I'm betting TomVH is going to win

1. 2% - Bama/Miami battle, I think, with LSU in 3rd. 2. 20%? - No clue, hard to say until he visits. 3. 5% - Guessing, I heard a rumor he called RR after the Minnesota game, but who knows. I'm not sure BMN knows. 4. 50% - Love M's chances here. 5. 35% - I think he likes Michigan, but likes UNC and NCSU better. 6. 40%? - Again, hard to say until he visits. 7. 10% - I'd bet he joins Hawkins at Maryland. 8. Whatever percentage 1 out of 15 is. No point in speculating until he narrows it further. 9. 0% - Bama lock. 10. 25% - Until he visits or even talks about Michigan more, no sense in getting hopes up. 11. 100% - I really believe he isn't going to consider anywhere but Michigan. 12. 5% - Strong Florida lean. 13. Not putting a percentage on that until we see what we're going to be like on the field next year.

I'll comment on the ones I think we have a shot at, or that I disagree with what everyone else said..... - Bryce McNeal 30% (for some reason he's rethinking his decommitment, I haven't talked to him in awhile though) - Taylor Lewan 45% (His Dad went to Minnesota, and I could tell the first time I spoke with either of them that bond would be hard to break. BUT, the resignation of Minnesotas O-Line coach, our depth chart, and if he has a WOW visit I think it could swing our way, but I think Minnesota is leading right now) - Jamal Patterson 50% (I really think this is between M and Stanford, we'll see after his visit) - Travis Bond 45% for now (I keep hearing good things for M, but I still think he's leaning towards staying home for now, Side Note- I'd be happy with Freeman and Washington. Out of all of the O-lineman on this post I like Taylor Lewan the most though. I saw him in person, and it was everything people said it would be) - Will the thrill 90% (I just think he's staying home) - Jelani Jenkins (I wasn't going to say anything, but he's blown me off for about 3 interviews now, for some reason I take that as a bad sign for M) TimVB's numbers seem to be the most accurate IMO. Except I would disagree with Pernell McPhee, I think that number is higher.

Hey Tom, couple questions on Jelani Jenkins: 1. Supposedly he's cutting his list down from 15 to 12 or 10 soon. Do you expect UM to make the cut? 2. I've read at numerous places people with alleged "inside info" (which I find to be dubious at best) claiming that Jenkins has an unofficial top three of Penn State, Stanford and Michigan in no particular order. Can you confirm or deny? I tend to think that that falls more under the realm of unsubstantiated internet gossip, but you never know.

I added some that weren't on the original list: 1. WR Rueben Randle 0% - he dropped us from his Top 5 and he's staying South 2. WR Jamal Patterson 50% - this one is a bit confusing as the reports vary, I see some "snake oil" possibly. 3. WR Bryce Mcneal 40% - he may be realizing that with the right QB in this system he will get the ball. 4. OT Taylor Lewan 40% - I felt confident early on but as Tom stated he seems to be leaning towards Minnesota, lets hope for a great visit and some Roh persuasion. 5. OT Travis Bond 50% - stay close to home or come to a tradition, it's a toss up 6. DE Pernell McPhee 40% - with a good visit and some Pahokee teammates in his ear I think this can increase, early PT may also help. 7. DE Jason Ankrah 5% - I see him joining Hawkins.....soon. 8. LB Jelani Jenkins 10% - Another recruiting mystery ala Pryor so I am not holding my breath, 9. CB Dre KirkPatrick 0% - not leaving the south. 10.CB Jayron Hosley 15% - need a good visit and "snake oil" 11.DT William Campbell 90% - The staff knows the importance and will continue to work this one hard eventually landing the big fella. 12.ATH Denard Robinson 15% - I just think he ends up at Florida but if they let him compete for the QB spot with the other frosh who knows. 13. M beats OSU next year 30% - higher if the wrecking ball named Beanie leaves. Additions 14. Quentin Wahsington 35% - just from what I've read theres a shot 15. Chris Freeman 60% - our Trotwood connection speaks for itself. 16. Mywan Jackson 40% - we could use him and there seems to be mutual interest. 17. Darren Myles 25% - would take a lot of "snake oil" 18. Dennis Thames 40% - but he's 100% pure mystery 19. Josh Boyd 10% - looking like LSU will reap the benefits from Croom's departure 20. Marcus Hall 5% - maybe toss him a Range Rover and some East Lansing hookers and we could land him. 21. Sam Montgomery 10% - long shot but hope remains
