This is like seeing a car stalled on the tracks and you can hear a train coming around bend. OP, I would strongly recommend a new title.

Not to thread hijack but since its a slow day ive been meaning to ask the board this Q for a while now

Why is everyone talking about Michigan moving to more of a spread on offense?

I do know the Nico story and Im familiar with Frey's work, but is that the only evidence we are basing this off of?

In no particular order and from no inside sources or deep knowledge of football:

* There's intriguing talent at WR.

* The O-line might be better in a spread offense than a classical Harbaughfense in the near term.

* Combining the first two points, the staff believes that some spread elements would make sense with the current personnel.

I don't remember reading that we'll be a spread O. I interpreted it as just incorporating some spread elements. I also thought it had to do with the coaches and not so much the players.

I haven't been keeping up as much as I used to, though. Just based off what I remember reading recently, but I probably missed a few things here or there.

It can mean several things.  The Pats and Tom Brady run a spread passing based offense, and Brady is no Denard.  I think Harbaugh who learns a lot and is always evolving sees how spread style elements really work well in college and loves winning.

TL;DW:

The prospect is top-150 2018 safety Myles Sims, from Atlanta, GA.

He likes Michigan's academics, especially the business school. He also likes the fact that our coaches know where he would fit in the defense.

He's impressed with Michigan's recent recruiting out of Georgia.

He thinks Harbaugh is a "celebrity coach." He thinks this is valuable for future networking, because Harbaugh knows so many important people.
