I also have tickets to the Iowa game, should I have written this post as a diary?
Received my tickets to the Iowa and Illinois games
The general consensus here in Iowa is that Hawkeye fans are nervous about the Michigan game, but they are feeling much more secure and confident after the Hawkeye performance at State College. The Iowa offense is really not that good, but they have a good O-line and some very good young running backs. Stanzi is the type of QB who you want to just not lose the game for you. Receivers are average. Kicker is decent, and the Hawkeye punter is on par with He Who Cannot Be Named. Iowa defense is just plain good -- possibly the best front seven in the Big Ten. One of their safeties, Tyler Sash, has had a bunch of picks already, but he's been Johnny-on-the-Spot against some weak players (Arnaud from Iowa State comes to mind).
I also have four tickets to the Illinois game in Champaign on Halloween, and so my fiancee and I are meeting two friends from Indianapolis there. I have not been to Memorial Stadium, but I understand that I'm in for a pretty brutal time. Hell, just last summer, driving through Illinois, I saw "Muck Fichigan" t-shirts in a convenience store. I just hope that the Illini continue to struggle, and that Juice Williams is not going to replicate his performance from last year against us.
Anyone else going to these games?
But maybe you shouldn't have been a condescending ass to your fellow Michigan fan.
So what if he's a fellow Michigan fan? Seriously. Why does it matter?
Have a blast, buddy. Represent and Go Blue!
My partner and I also have ducats to the game @ Kinnick....5 yard line row 79 I think? Iowa sideline. We are also going to pick up tickets to the Illini game, should be a blast!
If the guy is more excited about his tickets or telling the world he found a girlfriend.
I will be at the Illinois game in the Michigan section.
Sec 109, Row 40.
Not only will you see plenty of "Muck Fichigan" shirts, but you'll see ones with the correct lettering.
I won't take my kids to the game, but I'll be there. Good luck.
the fact that by writing this you are REALLY looking past the MSU game, or the fact that I just reserved my hotel room for the Iowa game and the closest one I could find one in was Waterloo, Iowa. That's right, people, fucking WATERLOO.
Oh I'm certainly not looking past MSU, but my tickets had just arrived, and so I was a tad excited. I haven't been to a U-M game since the 2004 Rose Bowl. Waterloo is a bit of a hike from Iowa City -- that sucks you're staying up there.
I'll be there, row 3 25-30 yard line screamin my ass off in Kinnick stadium. Go blue
I got my tix to the ILL game today and I am sitting in sect. 209 which with the little research that I did it would appear that these seats will suck (oh well I am seeing my favorite team so screw it right). I put in a post earlier this week enquiring as to what I should expect from the Illini faithful and I was met with differing stories, some (or rather most) had me leary about the locals, but others made me think it would not be a big problem. As far as the Iowa game I really think that it has the potential to be a let down game for Iowa. This week is a gimme for them so the hype could carry them into next week when we play them (especially if they have a big win against AR State). If we pull off a big win against Sparty I like our odds against Iowa.
