and yet the RIT vs. UNH and Wisconsin vs. St. Cloud State replays are.
otherwise I'd be there. For sure going Sunday though.
right. but I'd love to see the metrics for what kind of viewership SEC Softball/Lacrosse (actually Lacrosse might give us a run for our money, but this is the NCAA tournament) is bringing in, and putting those HD cameras on Hockey.
If not, the hockey leagues should meet ESPN half way in getting them the equipment; obviously the games are too small to have on ESPN2 but ESPNU wouldn't be a bad venue (for the regular season). I truly believe that college hockey could be bigger, given more coverage. Maybe the ESPN/ABC networks are a little too big for it, but I would love to see a joint deal between the Fox Sports Regional Networks/The Big Ten network to help elevate it.
I checked ESPN2 and they have NHRA qualifying on tonight during the game. Call me crazy, but there are really that many people watching NHRA at 8 pm on a Saturday night??? You figure that Michigan in the NCAA tourney after an improbable run to qualify for it has a better rating than drag racing. Maybe I just live in a bubble though and not in the real world...
I'm hoping they show the game live on UVerse. Here's the channel info in AA: ESPNU has a different game scheduled for 7:30 (as has been well discussed), but the Michigan game is listed on an alternate channel at its regularly scheduled time - #693 in SD, #1693 in HD. Hopefully UVerse actually airs the game, I've had some issues with them in the past. I'm surprised ESPNU wouldn't use regional coverage for these games, they certainly would get more viewers that way...
Not that I disagree with you on the merits of hockey (especially U-M) vs. any form of drag racing, but we're talking about hockey in America. The NHL pays NBC to televise their product, and many other games are shown on a network (Vs.) that many people can't even get. And that's PRO hockey.
We have a long way to go with our beloved college version.
College hockey in HD? Never heard of it.
Philly won't have the game on Comcast, and even if a bar gets the Fox channel, they probably won't show college hockey over the basketball tournament and Flyers games.
I have Cablevision (Connecticut) and as far as I can tell I'm not getting this on any D, let alone HD
No Definition = Radio.
I'm just glad this thing is on live television.
I remember years where everything but the Frozen Four was either on late-night tape delay or radio-only. In fact, I'm pretty sure the Mike Legg goal in '96 wasn't on TV until that night. I had to listen to it on the radio in my living room.
this is a thread?
If you can get ESPNU - HD then you will get the game in HD. At least from the East Regional. Direct TV does not have ESPNU HD so I had to watch the games yesterday in regular. I am hoping that when I flip on Fox Sports North HD the game will be in HD. But, as many others had said, I am just happy to be able to watch the game live!
What channel is going to be on for Directv? i checked ESPNU and it says TBA? any info would be sweet. thx
I'm watching the BC-Nanooks game on MASN right now. Its not in stretch HD, but the picture quality is QUITE good. Can't complain at all.
Also directv? channels? Channels.
MASN - 640
FSNorth - 668
ya how do you get MASN? what channel is that?
masn, along with the other regional sports networks (FSD, etc), are on the sports pack. big 4 sports are blacked out live, but college hockey and a lot of college bball is live and in hd. i can watch michigan hockey in seattle. very cool. one of the best 12 dollars a month ever.
I have ESPNU HD and the Miami game just started, and it's in lo-def. So unless they magically find some HD cameras in the next 3 hours, our game won't be available in HD on any channel at any point.
