Re: Nix comments on Indiana: "A side effect from weed is short-term memory loss" - Adam Schenkel
Burke and Hardaway, jr are gods when they win and Zeller is overrated.
What does Derrick Nix think of Derrick Nix?
He can't remember.
GoodBurger joke..
Flashback to the 90s
This post is stupid on so many levels. I don't give a shit what some scrub Fort Wayne sports talk radio host says about Derrick Nix. Even on top of that, it's a stupid comment that he made.
to comment on somebody else making comments about it. I see?
I just don't think it's worth making a post about. Should I make a new board topic every time some random person on twitter makes a weed joke about one of our rivals? Or maybe every time someone makes a fat joke about Hoke? Of course not. I just don't see the point.
Wouldn't it make more sense to not comment on a thread you believe isn't thread-worthy? When you comment, you just bump it up to the top of the page.
Only if you're using the recent tab, which most people don't. And people complain about threads all the time, I don't care about what this guy on twitter said but I do care about the quality of posts on the board so I voiced my opinion.
We got it. Use the moderating option to downvote the thread and move on. This thread is on-topic (especially during the football off-season) and will stand. Comments about threads being stupid when everyone else seems to be interested are a waste of space. If you don't like it, just move on.
Only if you're using the recent tab, which most people don't.
No - if you use the board itself, newly-commented threads also get bumped up, so all your rants are keeping this one at the top.
I don't understand the obsession with this kind of thing. Is the board supposed to be a pristine wilderness, never to be trod upon by mankind?
I made one comment, it only turned into what you see now because people responded to it. And I'm 99% that's not true... can someone else confirm/deny? I use the new tab and figured most people did, and I'm almost certain that comments have nothing to do with the order of posts.
I use the "new" tab and threads never get bumped by comments.
No, no, no, dig up stupid.
I'm commenting so this thread stays up near the top of posts.
I use the "new" tab exclusively and share your thoughts that most everyone does the same. Doesn't seem like a reach to me.
I agree with you. My actual little brother smokes a ton of weed. I don't make fun of him for being dumb and a loser. I just watch and let him screw up on his own. Makes me look like less of an ass while he still looks dumb as hell.
Although he's got a point. This is the equivalent of childhood name-calling e.g. "Nix is a poopy head". So basically what's being reported is that Nix is full of himself and doesn't give others credit. The problem I have is he's making comments about other B1G schools' players and not directly at Michigan players. So why do we care? When he starts commenting on Michigan players (like the "God" reference), then I care. It just seems very RCMB.
...allowed to make threads about whatever topic they choose since the internet is supposed to be wide-open and all.
Having said that, posts about tweets are pretty lame. Anybody that really cares about what someone tweets would already be following that twitter account.
of weed is the munchies, right Derrick?
Dead Horses.
Does anyone else find it unprofessional that an ESPN radio host is tweeting this to a college athlete?
you put "ESPN" and "professional" in the same sentence. Unless "troll" is also included, I am sorry, but you cannot use professional to describe anything about ESPN.
...and now back to our program "turning a blind eye to the duplicity of the NCAA so long as it fills our coffers"
I find ESPN Radio to be much better and enjoyable than any talking heads on ESPN TV. I do, however, think ESPN covers baseball quite well with Buster Onley, Kruk, Tim Kurkjian
Who is Adam Shenkel? Should I care what he has to say?
And I've been telling you the marijuana is dangerous, made the Cold War last 10 years longer. Why do you think the 1970s were such a bad decade? 1960s --> marijuana -->hippies --> 1970s & Jimmy Carter.
Conversely, 1980s --> cocaine --> productivity --> good economy --> Ronald Reagan.
~Herm
what a wonderful drug. Anything that makes you paranoid and impotent, gimme more of that!
/RobinWilliams'd
Is perhaps one of the funniest things ever recorded. I listened to it so much when I was a kid, I have it memorized
You're joking right?
you don't need drugs anymore once you've had kids. You're awake, you're paranoid, you smell bad...its the same thing!
I think Herm just touted the benefits of a cocaine-based society. Never saw that comin'!
Herm must have only been awake for Reefer Madness. He must have slept through Cocaine Fiends. Either that or he was hepped up on goofballs.
Derrick Nix thinks Derrick Nix should be the overall #1 pick in the NBA draft. Derrick Nix also thinks Derrick Nix can beat U. Bolt in the 100m and would have beat Bobby Fischer at chess 10 out of 10 times. Derrick Nix thinks he isn't fat...Derrick Nix thinks Derrick Nix is "big-boned."
These are the true thoughts that go through the mind of Derrick Nix.
You had me at big boned. Ha!
and would have beat Bobby Fischer at chess 10 out of 10 times.
Oh man, and now that Bobby Fischer is dead, we'll never know. Damnit!!!!!
No lie, I thought this was Adam Schefter at first, which had me double confused
Insanely unprofessional for ESPN employees to be poking fun at college athletes...without athletes many of their shitty employees would be out a job. This clown and Dan Dakich (who attacked former UM Bball player Anthony Wright) need to be put in check
I am really hoping Creepy Crean and crew goes to the Bres and drops a bomb tonight.
If Nix didn't whine, I would actually like him, he has developed a nice post game this year.
Which is worse, the espn comment or Nix's comment?
Nix is just a college kid talking smack. The other was a semi-journalist pulling up a kids past to throw it in his face. Even though its provided us some humourous material to poke fun at Sparty and Nix, its still a shitty thing to do imo.
That's kind of my point
that Payne was the dumb one.
fits right in at MSU
...a side effect from weed is short-term memory loss, but I don't believe it.
...a side effect from weed is short-term memory loss, but I don't believe it.
Do you believe in de ja vu?
just ask me that?
but I'm pretty sure that guy is not an ESPN employee. He hosts a local weekend radio show. The station he works for is an ESPN affiliate, which means they carry some of ESPN's programming. There are literally hundreds of those affiliates..
Quick Play-By-Play
- Nix makes dumb comment
- ESPN Radio Affiliate pokes fun at Nix, insinuating Nix uses weed
- People spend entire thread debating about what is thread-worthy
I could be wrong, but I believe this tweet was inspired by a Joe Rexrode piece in which Rexrode allows Nix to openly lament about how he believes that Brendan Dawson is "just like Victor Olidapo" and how Adrien Payne can do "everything that Cody Zeller can do". Long story short, Rexrode basically allowed Nix to give the traditional Spartan cry of "no respect". I would say that these comparisons are...well....not the most valid in the world. Still, it would have been far more sage for Schenkel to have stayed off Twitter with that comment, much less direct it right at Nix.
A quick study of Schenkel's feed would indicate an apology is not forthcoming, it would seem.
Good to see that MSU's unsubstantiated sense of superiority doesn't begin and end with UM.
Nice Tits!
