RB recruiting done?
At the bottom of the article Jonathan Hilliman says that the coaches told him that they are no longer recruiting the RB position.
so I'm not reminded of that game ever, that would be an improvement
This was his response to the offense going 3-and-out yet again, leaving his Defense on the field too long.
RB wasn't a dire need this year so if we were going to take another back it might as well had been one we just couldn't refuse like Fournette. Otherwise, with the position we're in for Harris & Weber in 2015 that scholarship is better suited for a defensive player in this class.
Is it possible Fitz may not be able to go this year and he gets a medical RS?
From the article:
"I only had one day at Rutgers and a whole weekend at Ohio State. And I might have seen more at Ohio State because I was there longer. But I got just as much, if not more information at Rutgers than I did that whole weekend," he said.
I wonder how much time you saved typing UM instead of Urban Meyer.
More seriously, that's a really bad abbreviation on a Michigan message board. Urbs is only 2 letters longer (and notice how much time I saved by typing 2 instead of two!) and much less confusing.
It's awesome how we are now constantly in on the top NJ kids. NJ being "B1G country" will help even more. We need to build up the momentum before Penn State regains consciousness and tries to reclaim their natural recruiting ground.
Also, don't sleep on Rutgers. They will become a factor in the B1G.
I have a hard time believing Rutgers will ever be in the top 5 of the B1G unless Penn State stops progressing and Staee completely falls off into the abyss
I don't know if BB and FB are any different on redshirts, but there have been some 6 year players lately in the BIG in the last few years. Hummel from Purdue seems like he played forever!
The guy wasn't wondering if he could get a redshirt for last year, he was wondering if he wasn't 100% healthy and ready to go this year, could he get a medical redshirt for this year if it turns out he can't go. Now I don't thnk that is going to happen because all reports seem to suggest he is progressing nicely, but in the event he doesn't play this year because he's still hurting I believe he could still get a medical redshirt regardless of the fact that he redshirted in the past.
in getting Harris and Weber next year
I would have liked Hilliman as a fallback in case Fournette said no. He looks like a good RB prospect (and, given his offer list, I wonder why the recruiting services and the coaches see things so differently) who would fit in well with a POWER offense.
But he said he wanted to commit the second week of August, i.e. way before Fournette would be ready. Given what we took last year and who we have a shot at next year, I'd rather the chance at Fournette even if we end up with nothing at RB than getting Hilliman if it meant we had no room for Fournette. Especially with a LB recruit who could be converted to RB if need be also being recruited.
All this talk of time wasted when reading non-abbreviated words, we're wasting countless hours reading full length words when we should be abbreviating EVERYTHING
THINK OF ALL THE MILLISECONDS WE'RE WASTING RIGHT NOW. THINK OF THE CHILDREN
I think we'd take one more. Lock 'n load...
