RB wasn't a dire need this year so if we were going to take another back it might as well had been one we just couldn't refuse like Fournette. Otherwise, with the position we're in for Harris & Weber in 2015 that scholarship is better suited for a defensive player in this class.

Not sure UM (Urban Meyer) is as good as perceived in his recruiting. Hand is not a fan of UM.

From the article:
"I only had one day at Rutgers and a whole weekend at Ohio State. And I might have seen more at Ohio State because I was there longer. But I got just as much, if not more information at Rutgers than I did that whole weekend," he said.

It's awesome how we are now constantly in on the top NJ kids.  NJ being "B1G country" will help even more.  We need to build up the momentum before Penn State regains consciousness and tries to reclaim their natural recruiting ground.

Also, don't sleep on Rutgers.  They will become a factor in the B1G.

I don't know if BB and FB are any different on redshirts, but there have been some 6 year players lately in the BIG in the last few years. Hummel from Purdue seems like he played forever!

I dont think he can get one because he played in too many games. Gardner got one because of the limited PT with that back injury. Fitzie Toussie is a different story - as he started a majority of the games before going down after the midpoint of the season.

The guy wasn't wondering if he could get a redshirt for last year, he was wondering if he wasn't 100% healthy and ready to go this year, could he get a medical redshirt for this year if it turns out he can't go. Now I don't thnk that is going to happen because all reports seem to suggest he is progressing nicely, but in the event he doesn't play this year because he's still hurting I believe he could still get a medical redshirt regardless of the fact that he redshirted in the past.

From what I've read they are going all in on Leonard, dropped hilliman, and recruiting ballage as an athlete. From an interview with another teams pay site, it really sounds like ballage is trending strong for Michigan. As long as he doesn't get an Oregon offer Michigan will be in good position for his signature.

I would have liked Hilliman as a fallback in case Fournette said no.  He looks like a good RB prospect (and, given his offer list, I wonder why the recruiting services and the coaches see things so differently) who would fit in well with a POWER offense.

But he said he wanted to commit the second week of August, i.e. way before Fournette would be ready.  Given what we took last year and who we have a shot at next year, I'd rather the chance at Fournette even if we end up with nothing at RB than getting Hilliman if it meant we had no room for Fournette.  Especially with a LB recruit who could be converted to RB if need be also being recruited.

All this talk of time wasted when reading non-abbreviated words, we're wasting countless hours reading full length words when we should be abbreviating EVERYTHING
