RB Jordan Hall out for 10 Weeks at OSU

Stepped on some glass and had to have surgery - estimating he will be out for 10 weeks.

I really don't care who's on

I really don't care who's on the field as long as we win.

I'm with you

Once we pull a few wins in a row together, I'll be all about wanting them at full strength.

Brionte

Maybe well get to see some Brionte Dunn action. I for one am very curious to see how detrimental that miss actually was

Rod Smith

Has two years of experience on him and was also a highly touted recruit (Rivals #65 overall), so Dunn will have to beat him out to get serious carries while Hall is out.  He should be a good player down the line, but I think people tend to exaggerate the impact freshman can make unless they're absolutely transcendent talents (Think Adrian Peterson).

Hall was supposed to play the

Hall was supposed to play the hybrid slot role, which will likely now go to Corey Brown or Chris Fields, who are WRs. Carlos Hyde would've gotten most of the carries anyway, so that doesn't change, Smith and Dunn stay behind on the depth chart.

Since Hall isn't a true RB, it won't change who gets the carries out of the traditional backfield game.

The west recruiting analyst for rivals just tweeted this:

Laquon Treadwell said at the B2G Elite Camp that ‪#Michigan‬ is the team to beat

For all the "ZOMG PANIC" and "Diamond 2.0" people. I didn't really think it's worthy of its own thread, but if someone disagrees with me, go ahead and post it.

EDIT: Dayooper63 rules, I drool.

I wonder if Meyer decided to redshirt him.

He'll miss all the prep and practice time in July and August and the first two weeks of the season. He probably won't be in playing shape until the last few games. A redshirt would make a a lot of sense.

I think the idea here is that

I think the idea here is that he's already familiar with the new offense and stood out in spring ball. If the timetable is correct, he'll be able to study the offense, workout in rehab, and play by about week 3. I don't think Meyer would redshirt him in that situation.

It's a close call.

Personally, having had a tendon repaired (Hall's injury was a ligament, yes?) 10 weeks is just a guess, and an optimistic one.

I'd operate on the presumption that he will be back, and back at 100%, sometime well before Michigan visits Columbus.  But surgery is surgery.  I'll be surprised if it isn't longer than 10 weeks.

Anyway, best wishes to him for a full recovery and more, from a bad luck injury.

Well no one seems to know a

Well no one seems to know a whole lot at this point, but from what I could gather, the healing time will be ~6 wks. and the other 4~ will be more recovery and returning to 100%. So there is a cushion there, I would just be happy to see him return by the start of B1G play.

That sucks. Hope he gets better soon.

I stepped on a nail once. Hurt like a mother. But the tetanus shot afterward, aw man.
