Rashad Knight "blown away"

Submitted by JC3 on
This was just a brief blurb mentioned over at rivals ($), but I figured it was important. From rivals -
[Rashad] but mentioned he was blown away with the trip to Michigan and just stated several times that the atmosphere at Michigan was second to none at both the basketball game and being around all the coaches.

I think only good things can come out of the students rushing the court. An atmosphere like that is amazing. I've been to a few football games where I wish everyone would rush the field. The one that comes to mind for me is the Wisconsin game last year. It was a great comeback, in midst of a terrbile season. I can't remember what they were ranked, but I had a rocking good time.

they left at halftime. all the fun i had watching the game totally disappeared when we rushed the court. completely embarassed. fuck. rushing the court is for watershed moments like against a top 5 team or when we were on the rise last year. we are a tournament team. this is a game we should win!

Maybe when we can sustain winning for a few years this attitude would be correct. However, Michigan basketball has not been good for 15 years. Last I checked, we are 10-7 right now. Hardly a shoe in for the tournament. A win is a win and we should be happy with that and let the students celebrate. Who cares? Just be happy we won and quit being an arrogant ass.

I mean the students rushing. I REALLY can't believe how much flack we're taking for this. I'm glad that we can come up with stuff to complain about. I would rather not have won that game, because we didn't have ANY RIGHT AT ALL to rush that court. (I'm being sarcastic there.)

No surprise that he was blown away. Michigan is frickin awesome. Why do you think we all love it so much?

Everyone always talks about the grove at Ole' Miss. How pretty it is. Now, I like nature, but I'd take that experience on the court at Michigan over a day at Banff National Park! I can't imagine anyone choosing a college over a bunch of trees.

And Rivals rates Vinopal a 2 star prospect.... our lowest rated prospect. And Rivals says that Vinopal is only 5'10". Moreover, it is not so much that Vinopal is somewhat short for a safety.... it is his frame. He has short, stubby legs. Those limit athleticism. Thus, that is one of the reasons why he looks so stiff on film.... those short, stubby legs. He really has the legs of someone who is 5'7".

Rich rod tends to pull off a couple steals, such as roundtree (from Purdue) and shaw (from Penn State). Knight might have missed the boat, because we are in the mix highly rated guys such as Parker, maybe Torrian Wilson, and other recruits (Baxter and the mysterious OL). We also got another commitment today, from Damion Rogers.

We also can't overlook the fact that we've been lucky so far that we haven't had any decommitments. Unfortunately, I'm expecting a couple negative surprises in the next couple weeks. I don't know who, but somebody always seems to waver. We had a bunch in 2009, a few in 2008, a couple in 2007, etc. This would be the first class in a while not to suffer a decommitment (Witty and Drake don't really count as "decommits" from my viewpoint, since they didn't qualify).

There will probably be surprises both ways. Sometimes, though, I think "decommits" come after a heart-to-heart with RR as players of a higher talent level come in, something along the lines of, "We'll honor your scholarship offer, but the numbers really aren't looking good for you getting a lot of playing time. You may be happier taking that offer from [insert directional school name]."
