Rampant Edge of Internet Rumor Mongering Re: Harbaugh

Both Henson and Moss (YTM) have for some reason become much more positive about Harbaugh in the last 15 minutes.  Henson was already very positive but just went "way more positive" and Moss (who Brian did not shoot down as a source a few weeks ago) said "I was never convinced that Jim Harbaugh was coming here until about 15 minutes ago."

The "crowned one" says 8 years, 49 mil (6.125 a year) is the deal.  That would make sense - puts him in the "top 5" of NCAA coaches (#2 behind Saban) as Brian reported he wishes.  And a $1M+ bump vs NFL salary.

Some connection to the Moeller stuff but seems like something happened in addition in the last 15 minutes.  The Moeller stuff has been going on for 48 hrs - it would be strange for that to be a "new" surprise to 2 guys focused so intently on this hire within a 15 minute time span.

Again, "edge of internet" so eat your salt.

EDIT 11:20 PM EST - more Henson rumor mongering is Harbaugh looking at DJ Durkin as DC.  He is current interim coach of UF and served 2 years under Muschamp as DC.  Connection to Harbaugh = special teams coach for Stanford in 07-09.  36 years old (!).

Durkin is a Youngstown (!) OH boy, who has tons of Midwest ties via Bowling Green, Notre Dame in 2001-2006 as a GA and position coach.  Been at Florida since 2010.

I'd be somewhat surprised if he signed an 8 year deal. Seems a little long unless he truly believes this place is his calling. But I for one would not complain.

Ugh I just want this to be true. I want Michigan to be able to have nice things again. I mean, haven't we suffered enough?

Flight tracker? Is jimmy on a plane yet? We are 4 f'ing hours away. If he's going to be at a pressed in the morning they got to get going. And isn't no in in the middle of the night easier than broad daylight when people will see him

Henson floating DJ Durkin as a possible Harbaugh DC per sources.  Current Florida interim coach, served as UF DC under Muschamp.  36 years old.

He was special teams coach in 2007-2009 at.... wait for it... Stanford.

The 36-year-old Durkin served two seasons as defensive coordinator and linebackers coach under Will Muschamp, who was fired by Florida last month. The Gators were ranked Top 10 nationally in defense both seasons Durkin was in charge of the unit.

Prior to Florida, Durkin was the linebackers and special teams coach at Florida (2010-12), and defensive ends and special teams coach at Stanford (2007-09).

People won't believe me, but I have a family friend in the Raiders organization who says that Harbaugh is in contract negotiations with Davis and is expected to finalize a deal by early next week.  Don't shoot the messenger.
