Rampant Edge of Internet Rumor Mongering Re: Harbaugh

Both Henson and Moss (YTM) have for some reason become much more positive about Harbaugh in the last 15 minutes.  Henson was already very positive but just went "way more positive" and Moss (who Brian did not shoot down as a source a few weeks ago) said "I was never convinced that Jim Harbaugh was coming here until about 15 minutes ago."

The "crowned one" says 8 years, 49 mil (6.125 a year) is the deal.  That would make sense - puts him in the "top 5" of NCAA coaches (#2 behind Saban) as Brian reported he wishes.  And a $1M+ bump vs NFL salary.

Some connection to the Moeller stuff but seems like something happened in addition in the last 15 minutes.  The Moeller stuff has been going on for 48 hrs - it would be strange for that to be a "new" surprise to 2 guys focused so intently on this hire within a 15 minute time span.

Again, "edge of internet" so eat your salt.

EDIT 11:20 PM EST - more Henson rumor mongering is Harbaugh looking at DJ Durkin as DC.  He is current interim coach of UF and served 2 years under Muschamp as DC.  Connection to Harbaugh = special teams coach for Stanford in 07-09.  36 years old (!).

Durkin is a Youngstown (!) OH boy, who has tons of Midwest ties via Bowling Green, Notre Dame in 2001-2006 as a GA and position coach.  Been at Florida since 2010.

I have a friend who's close to the department who's given me good info before (McGary injury, Brandon being fired, etc). He told me a few hours ago that he was hearing from a former player familiar with the search committee that it's happening tomorrow. He was skeptical but passing it along. Maybe it's all the same sources, etc, but it's definitely positive, especially in light of Les saying he's not coming.

Look, I'm just some Michigan alum who's got a friend in the sports world. I wouldn't be posting stuff just to troll and you can go back and look at my other posts. I have no idea if what he said was right (he wasn't either because he was getting it from a friend of a friend). We thought it was pretty unlikely that we'd name Harbaugh coach tomorrow, but it was a guy credible enough that he texted me (with the aforementioned caveats). Now these blogs are saying the same thing so it doesn't seem as crazy. 

I'm still skeptical he'd not wait out the season unless we came in and said we'd pay the buyout to Harbaugh or something.

I saw this thread and the first thing that came to mind is that I actually have to be at my desk in eight hours due to an earyl conference call tomorrow. The second thought I had is that I will be here to pack up my laptop at 6:15 AM to get ready for work now, having foregone sleep. Of course, I will probably catch up with that during the actual call.
