G.O.A.T.
December 24th, 2014 at 8:56 PM ^
Is that like a sports E.G.O.T?
December 24th, 2014 at 9:10 PM ^
G.O.A.T. = Greastest Of All Time.
December 24th, 2014 at 9:46 PM ^
So it is a sports E.G.O.T.
December 24th, 2014 at 10:44 PM ^
No, not necessarily. I'm pretty sure the acronym originated in hip-hop and can just used to describe someone who is the greatest in any particular field or category - be it Bruce Lee, Superman, Marlon Brando, etc.

Woosh
December 25th, 2014 at 6:15 AM ^
And yes, even you too, Kakarot.
December 24th, 2014 at 9:12 PM ^
DB coach at UofM.

We had a lot of talent on our '97 National Championship team, but Charles Woodson was probably 50% of the reason why we have that title. Some games he almost single-handedly won for us.
December 24th, 2014 at 9:32 PM ^
He scored an offensive touchdown, a special teams touchdown and picked off OSU in the end zone. The margin of victory was only 6 points.
God, that team was fun.
December 24th, 2014 at 10:38 PM ^
He didn't score an offensive touchdown (although he had a key reception that led to our offensive touchdown), but he was still ridiculously awesome in that game.
December 24th, 2014 at 11:18 PM ^
was on Judgment Day against Penn State, which remains the best that I have ever seen a Michigan team play.
December 24th, 2014 at 11:54 PM ^
That was perfection until late in the game when they got 8.
I don't think people realize how perfect that game was...if anyone remembers the first half of the Alabama/Texas A&M game this year, it was like that --- but worse --- and against a much better team --- and on the road.
December 25th, 2014 at 12:02 AM ^
My only visit to Happy Valley. No need to go back for I have seen the top of the mountain.
December 25th, 2014 at 10:52 AM ^
He set up an offensive touchdown
December 24th, 2014 at 8:39 PM ^
Is still my favorite player of all time.
As a packers fan I hated when Green Bay allowed him to go. His leadership alone is worth his salary.
December 24th, 2014 at 8:42 PM ^
A once in a generation type player.
Lucky to have been able to watch him play.
One of my favorite M plays of his was the one handed snag up in EL.
CW = Class

and then followed it up with a NFL HOF career is just awesome. No Heisman then bust for that badass MFer!
December 24th, 2014 at 8:59 PM ^
Hope he comes back next year, the Raiders might actually have something going right now. His interview after MNF a few weeks back sure made it seem like he was enjoying the game as much as he ever has.
December 24th, 2014 at 9:10 PM ^
Needs to go to New England, mend things with Tom, and win another title before he retires.

Mend? Do they not like each other?

Maybe referring to the Tuck Rule game?

WRs and Secondary
At UM of course!
December 24th, 2014 at 9:28 PM ^
He turned down Denver to go back to the Silver and Crap and for less money too.
December 24th, 2014 at 10:01 PM ^
Some people just have loyalty to organizations that have special meaning to them ... (looking at you Harbaugh)
December 24th, 2014 at 10:03 PM ^
His wife didn't want to move... oh this isn't the Harbaugh thread? Oh, ok. Goodnight to all, and to all a goodnight!

If Harbaugh goes to Oakland I hope he gets a ring with Charles
December 24th, 2014 at 11:04 PM ^
He'd probably have to play a few more seasons for that to even be a possibility.

If Harbaugh comes to Michigan I hope Woodson gets a ring with Jim.
Let Mattison finish a couple years on the staff while Woodson finishes his career...then Mattison retires when Woodson retires. Manning moves from coaching CBs to the DL (where Mattison coached), and Woodson comes right in to coach our CBs.
Jim and Chuck win multiple championships.
December 24th, 2014 at 10:56 PM ^
did give him one thing most teams wont, extreme fan support and love. He might not win a ring with oakland but the fans apreciate a love the guy more then 90% of the teams in the nfl teams fans would.
December 24th, 2014 at 10:59 PM ^
My favorite Wolverine of all time (by far). I'm only 25 so I didn't get to see all the greats, but I remember that dude was (still is) special.

I'm 55 and right there with you.
December 24th, 2014 at 11:06 PM ^
He's been in the league for 17 years and STILL playing out of his mind. Once in a generation type of player.
December 24th, 2014 at 11:08 PM ^
That was pretty cool, and I have to believe that if you have a talent like Woodson, there is pretty much no way that such a tribute avoids being made. He is still the guy that took away entire quadrants of space, more or less, and limited plays to a very narrow band of the field. Even then, he hangs around. It has been great to watch Woodson do Woodson things - in college and the pros - for nearly two decades now.
December 24th, 2014 at 11:20 PM ^
It's Charles' world. We just live in it.
The Man.
December 24th, 2014 at 11:55 PM ^
...if he ever wanted to coach.
December 25th, 2014 at 12:01 AM ^
They do the walkin, we do the talkin - that's all there is too it.
December 25th, 2014 at 12:33 AM ^
He is simply the best, sure fire Hall of Fame.
December 25th, 2014 at 5:09 AM ^
I had the pleasure of working as a manager for the team during Woodson's time at Michigan and he was every bit the person he was a player. Saw him do things in practice that rivaled his INT at State even no joke.
December 25th, 2014 at 7:12 AM ^
He is everything that is good about UM.
