We had a lot of talent on our '97 National Championship team, but Charles Woodson was probably 50% of the reason why we have that title. Some games he almost single-handedly won for us.

That was perfection until late in the game when they got 8.

I don't think people realize how perfect that game was...if anyone remembers the first half of the Alabama/Texas A&M game this year, it was like that --- but worse --- and against a much better team --- and on the road.

A once in a generation type player.

Lucky to have been able to watch him play.

One of my favorite M plays of his was the one handed snag up in EL.

Hope he comes back next year, the Raiders might actually have something going right now.  His interview after MNF a few weeks back sure made it seem like he was enjoying the game as much as he ever has.

If Harbaugh comes to Michigan I hope Woodson gets a ring with Jim.

Let Mattison finish a couple years on the staff while Woodson finishes his career...then Mattison retires when Woodson retires. Manning moves from coaching CBs to the DL (where Mattison coached), and Woodson comes right in to coach our CBs.

Jim and Chuck win multiple championships.

did give him one thing most teams wont, extreme fan support and love. He might not win a ring with oakland but the fans apreciate a love the guy more then 90% of the teams in the nfl teams fans would.

That was pretty cool, and I have to believe that if you have a talent like Woodson, there is pretty much no way that such a tribute avoids being made. He is still the guy that took away entire quadrants of space, more or less, and limited plays to a very narrow band of the field. Even then, he hangs around. It has been great to watch Woodson do Woodson things - in college and the pros - for nearly two decades now.

I had the pleasure of working as a manager for the team during Woodson's time at Michigan and he was every bit the person he was a player. Saw him do things in practice that rivaled his INT at State even no joke.
