Raback it. Harbaugh will not be coming here.

Willing to take the pounding if/when...  In fact I'll bump it to the front to remind all of you for your convenience.

I have no "great source", but I am giving the notion full consideration with a complete disregard of any/all things RR related.  Just focusing on JH and what any aspiring coach would want.

Harbaugh may have relished the notion of coming to AA at one time, but 2 things have happened:

1)  A #4/#5 ranked team w/ an 11-1 season - He truly has nothing left to prove in NCAA life.  He's done it with all the "limitations" (i.e. academic standards, disinterested fanbase, etc) he deals with.  Toiling 2 to 4 more years at UM towards the only remaining goal (Nat. Champ) is futile

2)  The NFL - It's not going to be just the Bills and Raiders this time.  There will be too many, to not find the "perfect one" and forget all about UM.  Likely SF.  He can stay in his beloved West Coast area, make WAY more $$, have a new set of challenges, follow the footsteps of his brother and Bill Walsh, etc.

It's not going to happen, with or without RR.

what about the prospect of following in the footsteps of his coaching mentor at his alma mater. I think it was some dude named Bo. And what about the opportunity to turn the Michigan football program around and write his name in the storied history of Michigan football and the Ohio State - Michigan rivalry.

He went from Jack Harbaugh to Bo to Ditka.  That is straight crazy.

Turning around the football program and the OSU-Michigan rivalry may sound nice, but the NFL can pay enough $$$ to make him want to work on Sundays.

Unless it's from Raback it can't be Rabacked, technically. And Raback would never Raback this because there's know way of knowing the inscrutable ways of the Brandon.

I can't think of a single coach who stayed at the college level and at one program he cared about for a long time despite numerous NFL offers in this day and age...named Joe Paterno.

Raback comes from a situation where someone had insider knowledge as to what was going down.

Since you come out and admit you do not have insider knowledge, you cannot "raback it".  Your title was very misleading.  -1 to you.

I'm going to the bust as part of the 85 team reunion.  I'll ask Jim personally.

EDIT:  Wait a second.  I've sensed a disturbance in the force and feel Harbs won't be in attendance Thursday.  DAMMIT, Jim.

You cannot Raback something and back it up with just your opinion. The point of Rabacking it is to know without a doubt, FROM A SOURCE, that you know the truth. This kind of stunt will only prove to water down this term.

The definition of a Raback Guarantee is to foresee a top recruit coming here only to be denied admission due to lack of academic qualifications. GET IT RIGHT.

I propose a moratorium on threads that are written simply on the basis of...

..."I think Harbaugh is/isn't hired because _____________."

There are enough threads about it, and all this info could be posted in those threads.  There's no need to start a new one just to voice your whims.

Not to be snarky, but you do understand that he hasn't overcome the "limitations" at Stanford yet.  Boise State losing was huge for Stanford, as it enabled Stanford to be in the top 4 of the BCS.  Being in the top 4 of the BCS guarantees a BCS bowl bid.  There was a very real possibility (and perhaps still is if Wisconsin were to jump Stanford, however slight that possible occurrence might be) that his 11-1 would get passed over for a BCS bowl (as the Rose Bowl would have to take an eligible non-AQ if it didn't go to BCS title game, and Stanford is not an attractive option for the Sugar or Orange b/c of a poor traveling fan base).  You go 11-1 at Michigan, not only are you guaranteed a BCS at-large bid (a la OSU this year, with MSU being left out), but you're in the NC discussion.

Please for the sake of general sanity of most readers, unless you are Raback, please don't "Raback It".  Not only is your opinion without any basis, it also pure speculation without any support.  Even if some might forgive you Racking anything (not me) this is hardly Rabackable!

I also like making guarantees based off of no solid evidence whatsoever. I can tell what other people think too. Raback it!

P.S. the use of "Raback" should be used in the same sense of Sam's "gut feeling". If you have inside info and can't name a source, that's what you do. Not making flimsy guarantees off of your own feelings
