Quick Towsley question

Headed over there with my brother and dad to check out the renovated museum. How long does it take to tour around in there?

It's very nice. We spent an hour looking at the displays and checking out a couple interactive screens. I could've spent another 30-60 mins in there looking over the screens in more depth but not upset I left a little for my next visit.

My girlfriend and I began a trip from Bloomington, IN to western New York (Rochester, Ithaca, Letchworth, Ontario/Chimney Bluffs) on Sunday and kicked it off with a one-night stay in Ann Arbor. Because when isn't Ann Arbor the best way to start a trip?

We visited the museum on a slow Monday before Dominick's, Frita Batidos, and an exit from town. We arrived around 10AM and within seconds Jabrill Peppers and another player I didn't recognize (older) came in through a different door on the other side of the reception desk. A pretty neat start!

And then we strolled through for about 45 minutes (to properly indoctrinate her) before taking off. If she weren't around, I'd have probably spent 90 minutes there for myself...but I tend to really like reading every centimeter of text on a placard.

I spent 45-an hour reading all the displays. There are a TON.

They had a timeline which went through the history of Michigan Football had some old items like championship rings and a Michigan lighter from 1898.

They made a couple of errors on the timeline and a display and I told the receptionist at the desk that I knew they pretty much did a cut & paste from Bentley, but Bentley made a mistake. Michigan's first home game in 1883 was not against Detroit Independents. They played Detroit Industrial.

There are also interactive screens which are pretty cool. I went through those after I was done reading.

Then, after I finished going through everything, I got a bunch of pictures.

I was disappointed to see that the 1997 National Championship trophy was upstairs in the private recruiting lounge. Other than a few Big Ten and Rose Bowl trophies from the Bo years like 1969, 1980 and 1988, all of Michigan's Big Ten, bowl and national championship trophies aren't displayed.

I heard a rumor that they keep all the old trophies in a basement area at Schembechler Hall that's only accessible through the equipment room floor. This includes the 1898 Western Conference Championship trophy.

Despite the lack of trophies, this is a definitely a must-do for all Michigan fans.
