Quick Question - J. Hemingway

Submitted by octal9 on
I did some (superficial) searching but couldn't find anything. Does anybody know what the injury is, how long he'll be out, etc? One can only discern so much from the stands.

But since they do not appear to be using Hemingway in any substantial form, does it really matter that much? Note, however, that I would really have liked to see more of him at use in the O.

WTF was Warren doing on that play? I didn't catch the replay but he looked like he basically dove into Junior, and I can't think of any possible explanation for that . . . was he pushed into him?

My question is why wasn't the penalty called for the block in the back? Seemed pretty obvious penalty to me, but Millen said that there was a push, but that Warren stumbled on his own. Was that it, or did the refs simply miss it?

Once the ball is kicked, Warren (and the rest of the return team) become the offense. Because of that, the PSU gunner is no longer considered a "blocker" and therefore can't be called for blocking in the back. It was actually kind of a smart play on the PSU player's part, because it could have very easily resulted in a muffed punt...although it's kind of a dirty play, too.

A push in the back by the punting team can, and often is called when it is deliberate. It looked deliberate. It probably should have been called. I can only assume the ref down there didn't see it happen the same way I did.
