Quick Jordan Diamond Update

Submitted by JC3 on

I just got off the phone with super 2012 OL Jordan Diamond. Jordan was recently offered by Ohio State, and as you know is starting to collect a lot of offers.

He'll be visiting Wisconsin this weekend (2/11),  Michigan next weekend (2/18), and Ohio State the weekend after that.

Jordan sounds like he wants to stay in the midwest, and he got the chance to meet Coach Hoke a few weeks ago. He really likes him too. When I asked him about Ohio State he didn't sound really excited either. This is a long way to go but Michigan can make a big impression on him this weekend.

I don't think either RJS or Richardson are as definite as we'd like to think. If anything both will at least test the waters at other schools before commiting. It just seems like both are interested in other schools along with Michigan, unlike a guy like Hollowell who was solely Blue from the start.

IMO, Diamond became critical when we lost out on Fisher. People who don't understand how good he is should check out his offer list and then watch his combine highlights.

His recruitment's been picking up recently, as well. He's got offers from Buffalo, Cincy, MSU, Duke, and Syracuse, with interest from M, Iowa, LSU, Notre Dame, and Georgia. Could get an offer at the Junior Day if he shows up.

BuckeyePlanet is a great site to find inside information about Ohio prospects. But for someone like O'Brien, you're not going to get anything there that isn't readily available here.

But yes, I agree that O'Brien isn't a lock at this point.

A lot of people raved about Fisher's upside. Without having seen him at the camps he evidently dominated, I don't think I can make a fair opinion as to who I'd prefer.

Based solely on film, however, I'd rather have Diamond. He's a pretty lean, cut 290, and he's dominant in both the run and pass protection. He's got great footwork and moves well for someone that big.
