This wasn't meant to be a thread and I would normally ask to take down but it's a slow night.
They would likely accept a committment from both. Especially if we don't get a running back in the current class.
I know Coach Hoke has said he would like to take RBs in every class, but limited numbers this year may not let that happen. So two next year is highly likely.
Sam Webb said last week if they don't take a back this year they will try and get both those guys next year.
Those guys are good. I bet they try to take both no matter what happens this year.
unless we somehow land fournette i really hope we don't take a RB in this class. weber/harris spaced two classes from green/smith would be great. I feel like either weber or harris could commit at the bbq next month (more likely weber)
If Fournette comes to Michigan, I'll eat a shoe. Remember this post.
It is pretty clear you and your foot ware will be safe from each other. The kid is ess-eee-see all the way.
I think we will be okay skipping a RB in this class even if we don't get Fournette (not buckled up yet). We've taken enough the last two years to pass on one this year. We could always redshirt Shallman or Deveon Smith.
and take 4 top backs a year. Granted, we don't want to play the oversigning/St. Saban's Hospital game, but I think we can afford to take multiple a year, especially at the level of quality we're talking about.
Have multiple good back means you always have fresh legs and the running game must be feared even in the 4th. Multiple backs is also good for the players because they don't wear themselves out in college and have carries in the NFL. Very important since backs don't last long in general.
Along with the O line our Fullbacks will be key to our running game. Bo kept a bruising Fullback who could also gain yards on a dive. Moving forward with Houma and Shallman we will have that in our playbook again.
We aren't playing st saban style roster mgmt?
Have you looked at how many of the 2008, 2009 classes are not around for both teams? It is interesting.
We were a team that was forced to play nearly everyone early because Lloyd decided to treat the last two years of his time in AA as a paid vacation. If you will recall, RR was forced to start out with a walk-on qb who beat out a 4* and a lone returning starter in a sophomore on offense, and that happened to be on the line. Our two RBs Minor and Brown couldn't put up a thousand between them and we had an estimated 21 players on defense when an ideal number would be between 43 and 46. Oh yeah, RR was also faced with the outgoing coach leaning into his players ears and telling them to go to other schools. Real nice guy. Real Michigan Man. These numbers are about right as to is the record. It's difficult to play even close to .500 ball when you have what basically amounts to a junior varsity going against 23 year olds. And people were suprised it was ugly>???????? Yeah, go figure.
Yes, we don't lead the national in medical schollies like Bama. Plus Bama didn't have a coaching change. Plus we don't have newspaper articles about kids being pushed out for scholarship purposes. And we have signed about 15 less kids over a certain time period. Other than that, yeah the situations are totallly comparable.
Is 2015 expected to be a bigger class than '14? Are we talking at least 20 spots? If so, their re.s room for two great RBs, I'd think.
Focus should be quarterback over running back right now. We are an injury or two away from disaster. Even moving forward over the next 3 years.
take both IF they both want to come.
