Question about Tom Brady and HOF
All of his greatness came in the NFL. He did have two great games against Penn State and that hell of a game against Bama. I would think David Terrell, Steve Hutchinson, Brian Griese, Anthony Thomas or Chris Perry would have a better shot at the HOF then Brady.
GO BLUE!!
It's called the college football hall of fame for a reason
He's a NFL Hall of Famer but not NCAA, imho.
Sucks, but I'm sure he'll get over it.
Helps when you have the shoulder of a 5'11" Brazilian supermodel to cry on.
...eligible for consideration for the CFB HoF. The Hall's eligibility rule excludes him because he was not a First Team All-American.
To be eligible for the Hall of Fame players must have been named a First Team All-America by a major/national selector as recognized and utilized by the NCAA for their consensus All-America teams; played their last year of intercollegiate football at least ten years prior; played within the last 50 years and cannot be currently playing professional football.
Boom "MGoShoed". Your knowledge is greatly appreciated.
Which would leave us with, from the 2000s anyway, David Baas, Jake Long, Hutch, Woodley, Larry Foote, Marlin Jackson, Chris Perry, Ernest Shazor, and Leon Hall.
I could definitely see long and/or woodley getting in.
Woodley's move from DE to LB to DE probably hurt his college career stats, while helping his NFL potential and ability. However, his college career was very good, but probably not HOF, as his 2006 performance was really the only dominant one. Still has a chance, but I would say not as much. Long, on the other hand, was the Big Ten lineman of the year against 2 over 2 other first round offensive lineman as a Junior and then again as a Senior. He won many of the O-line awards and was at least a 2-time All-American.
Yeah, Jake Long is almost guaranteed.
Do you think you should get in? (wonder if freshman All-American counts as All American..)
Mike will get in after an illustrious career as head coach of Michigan.
Uh, I'm pretty sure you're missing Braylon on that list. I think hes for sure in the college hall of fame, I mean he has a game named after him.
When it comes to college football it seems like you know everything. One of these days I will stump you.
But hey, Tony Mandarich is eligible.
for the boning models hall of fame
I'm honestly a little stunned that Hart never made an All-America team.
Hart made a 2nd-team AA one of his years, but also happened to overlap with other greats like Adrian Peterson and Darren Mcfadden
You are surprised? I loved Mike Hart and everything but there was no way he was going to get voted First Team All American with the amount of injuries he had. Every year he had something wrong with an ankle and it hurt him. I liked watching him when he did play but injuries derailed his potential to put up crazy numbers
Look at his 2006 stats (http://espn.go.com/college-football/player/stats/_/id/160897/mike-hart)
They aren't earth-shaking, but those are definitely numbers that would put one in the running for All-American. Wasn't he 5th in the Heisman vote that year?
1998-Tom Brady really made me want to pull my hair out at times.
1999-Tom Brady was ten times better but he had to share time with Drew Henson.
Not that I don't love the guy. He improved over his career. He ended up being a pretty accurate passer and a painful as hell to watch runner. John Navarre could easily beat him in a race.
Unfortunately, that's not enough to be in the College Football Hall of Fame. But in the NFL, he's still got 3 Super Bowl rings to Peyton Manning's lone single ring.
