Question about Texas and ND

Submitted by Ziff72 on

If it's always about the money.  I don't quite understand Notre Dame and Texas right now.  It seems now that we already have Nebraska, Texas and ND would call each other up and say let's do this Big Ten thing we can basically start printing money.  It seems like Tex,  ND and whatever 2 teams Texas wants would allow the BTN to take over the world and make a sick amount of money for everyone involved.  If anyone can explain what I'm missing and why Tex would want to go to the Pac 10 please help me out?

For Texas, you can sum it up in two words - COLD WEATHER.  They certainly don't want to spend 3-4 weeks in the bitter cold when they are able to continue having temper climates in the PAC 10.

but the UT site that has been discussing UT-to-Big-10 since December had a comment on it (from someone at Northwestern?), right after it was newly reported that the original six minus Baylor might be going to the Pac-10 after all. The comment speculated that the sites with "inside connections" were being played by contacts with the UT AD in order to spread rumors that would assist UT in obtaining its objectives. One of the suggestions was that UT was using the "six to Pac-10" rumors to stampede T-Tech and A&M into the Pac-10. The purpose of this would be to cover UT with the Texas state legislature -- with three of the four TX schools left after the Pac-10's refusal of Baylor now safely in a major conference, UT would now be politically covered for their move to the B-10. According to this thinking, rumors of the six to Pac-10 are actually evidence of UT ridding itself of the "Tech problem" in order to get to the B-10.

Sorry I can't find the links; I have trouble locating old threads on this site.
