Does anyone know when we can expect the results of the NCAA's investigation into the Freep Jihad nonsense? I thought that results were expected before the end of the year, but I have not heard anything. It will obviously be a positive for us if this could be wrapped up (favorably) before signing day.
Question about NCAA Investigation
I believe that the investigation was suppose to be done by the end of the year. The results will come out later. Obviously don't have a date or anything though.
Reggie Bush took a house and the results aren't out yet. It may be a while.
"Was given," rather than "took."
Wrong! Reggie Bush's MOTHER was given a house. What does this have to do with USC? I mean really, what is wrong with a booster of a major university that is recruiting a kid giving that kid's inpoverished mother a house?!?! It's not like it affected Reggie's decision as to what school to attend, right? The fact that he attended USC was mere coincidence.
It's rare for a post to raise the sarcasm meter to the redline so sneakily. Started out seeming serious, and slowly gave way to the sarcasm at its core.
I think it's fair to assume that if you haven't seen anything about it on either the main page or the board, there's nothing to report. As soon as someone has info, I'm sure it'll be posted.
So you are trying to say people don't have tons of useful information just floating around their head waiting for a Mgoboard inquiry?
Well, at least about the NCAA investigation. I'm sure everyone on the board knows all kinds of stuff we'd be interested in knowing, like chili recipes or dress shoes...
...or canine anal infections.
Thanks for reminding us about the thread that defined OT in a unique, and hopefully forgettable, way.
Mich probe might have been put on the back burner.Who wants to investigate sweat and dirty jocks, when you can go down to Vol country and slueth you some hot college coeds driving HS football players out of their minds.Vow,never to stop until they have a sign LOI.
Is it just a coincidence that the post on Michigan probing comes right after the post on anal infections??
Perhaps this has been discussed and I missed it, but is anyone else concerned with the potential that Bill Martin knows the NCAA Investigations will turn out negatively for the program and he jumped ship before it all went down? It seems to be common practice before a big fall-out that the upper management begins to go off into the sunset.
Because by every imaginable account, Bill Martin had set himself up to retire upon the completion of the Stadium renovation. Which is what is happening, not sooner and not later. This is about as orderly a transition in a Michigan AD as we've had in 50 years.
Now, there is a good question about the exact timing and date of the Martin retirement announcement. It came hurriedly, in a weird, off-moment, off-key, mid-week newsdump kind of way.
My theory on that, based upon the finest news source I know of (my intuition) is that the news was about to get leaked, or somehow jumped, and Martin wanted to somehow take control of the news himself. Announce it yourself before somebody else, whom you might not like a lot, say like a newspaper in downtown Detroit, published it early. Just for instance.
No matter what the reasoning behind the timing or the substance of Martin's announcement, it is by any reckoning an orderly and appropriate transition. Martin stayed YEARS longer than he ever had any intention, until he got wrapped up in the big building and development projects. Since he is, uh, a developer.
Martin will be seen in the future as a truly great AD.
