Question about NCAA Investigation

Does anyone know when we can expect the results of the NCAA's investigation into the Freep Jihad nonsense? I thought that results were expected before the end of the year, but I have not heard anything. It will obviously be a positive for us if this could be wrapped up (favorably) before signing day.

I believe that the investigation was suppose to be done by the end of the year. The results will come out later. Obviously don't have a date or anything though.

Wrong! Reggie Bush's MOTHER was given a house. What does this have to do with USC? I mean really, what is wrong with a booster of a major university that is recruiting a kid giving that kid's inpoverished mother a house?!?! It's not like it affected Reggie's decision as to what school to attend, right? The fact that he attended USC was mere coincidence.

Perhaps this has been discussed and I missed it, but is anyone else concerned with the potential that Bill Martin knows the NCAA Investigations will turn out negatively for the program and he jumped ship before it all went down? It seems to be common practice before a big fall-out that the upper management begins to go off into the sunset.

Because by every imaginable account, Bill Martin had set himself up to retire upon the completion of the Stadium renovation. Which is what is happening, not sooner and not later. This is about as orderly a transition in a Michigan AD as we've had in 50 years.

Now, there is a good question about the exact timing and date of the Martin retirement announcement. It came hurriedly, in a weird, off-moment, off-key, mid-week newsdump kind of way.

My theory on that, based upon the finest news source I know of (my intuition) is that the news was about to get leaked, or somehow jumped, and Martin wanted to somehow take control of the news himself. Announce it yourself before somebody else, whom you might not like a lot, say like a newspaper in downtown Detroit, published it early. Just for instance.

No matter what the reasoning behind the timing or the substance of Martin's announcement, it is by any reckoning an orderly and appropriate transition. Martin stayed YEARS longer than he ever had any intention, until he got wrapped up in the big building and development projects. Since he is, uh, a developer.

Martin will be seen in the future as a truly great AD.
