QB transfer D. Prukop not visiting UM before decision

Submitted by RED DAWN on

Prukop opted to take the quick trip to Tuscaloosa over Ann Arbor as Tide OC Lane Kiffin has been aggressively in pursuit. "Alabama is Alabama,” Prukop said. "I just have to go check it out. The downside is I don’t have two-and-a-half days like I did at Oregon. But Alabama runs the pro-style (offense) and that is also enticing to me.

"I had to choose between going on a visit to Michigan and Alabama, and I was just more curious about Alabama. I had to make a lot of decisions in a matter of an hour and half. In my heart, I feel really good about Oregon. But Alabama is just Alabama."

Prukop says he’ll fly back home late Sunday night and hopes to make a decision by Monday.

when he says he doesn't understand the "transfer crazy" fans suddenly, except to say we were better off (this year) with Ruddock, he worked out quite well. I believe though that most 5th year transfers that still want another year have been beat out by an underclassmen, Or their pro stock isn't what they were hoping for coming out of school. Either way IMO UM needs to be elevating a QB from within. There also could be problems with the teams chemistry when the QB's know that the coach will bring in another transfer even though they felt they were ready to lead the team.

Marcus Ray kinda tipped his hand when he said to Sam on his Rays of light show this week that O'Korn was a good "practice QB" emphasis on practice. So how can we ftnd out if he is a gamer? Game time! IMHO.

but at some point, we have to develop the QBs that we have...I get that the QB cupboard was bare and our QBs weren't developed under Hoke and I'm OK with O'Korn starting (or Hill coming for that matter).

Not sure why everyone is getting so worked up. It's clear that under this regime the best players will play wherever they come from. Now, eventually I bet for the most part we will be starting in-house QBs because eventually they will start having 2-3 years in the system which will give them an advantage over QBs potentially coming from outside the system. We may not be there yet but starting next year we should be depending on attrition. I am not worried about the QB position under Harbaugh. He has more than proven himself at both the college and NFL levels when it comes to making very good QBs for his teams.

Andrew Bunch – Led Independence HS to the State 5A title and 15-0 record. In 11 games he was 214 of 314 68% with 41 TD passes only 4 INT’s.  Rushed for over 500 yards and 11 TD’s. Take into consideration he rarely played into the second half because of blowouts. Only occasionally into the 4th Qtr.  Imagine the numbers if he had not missed 4 early games with an elbow injury. The competition was stiff, in the playoffs they played teams with 8-2, 10-1, 9-3, 12-1 and 12-2. All 5 playoff opponents finished in the top 10 final poll. They were 27th in the Max preps national poll. Oh, the state 6A champion was Ravenwood who beat Maxpreps number 19 (at the time) Maryville (44 game winning streak). Ravenwood had only 1 loss, to Centennial 30-13, a team Independence beat 2 times by 49-6 and 56-14 in the state semifinals.

This kid is the real deal, don’t worry about stars, and watch the video of how he plays.
