I'll be interested to watch him get some serious game-time, but thus far, the only thing that makes him stand out from Bauserman is that Miller can go Pryor (to a much lesser extent than Pryor himself) and run for a few yards. Their QB situation in Columbus is a painful one, and I admit, I like that.

I get why the Bucks people are comparing him to Pryor, he's fast and nimble. However, when Pryor was a freshman, he was much heavier than Miller. I get that times are desperate in C-town, but I'm not sure that this move is necessarily in the best interest of the young man himself.

It might be preferable to take their lumps rather than to throw this young man into a situation where he could get a serious injury. Don't get me wrong, I agree that Bauserman is unlikely to win many games for them, and I also agree that Miller is the future.

However, now is the present, and not the future. I'd recommend some serious thought on the subject before putting Miller in, and I am concerned that this is a move to try to prolong Fickell's career instead of giving proper measure to the health of his player.

is that the Buckeye's were loaded when Pryor was a freshmen.  Tressell could afford to put Pryor out there and play the ultra conservative game because the Bucks had a way above average defense and a solid nucleus of talent on offense to surround Pryor, which included a stud college rb.

I don't think the talent level around Miller on either offense or defense is near what it was when Pryor was freshmen.  OSU is an extremely young team.  With the suspended players off the two deep the Buckeyes only have something like 8 seniors on the two deep, and that's on both sides of the ball.

I've heard a number of times on the radio here in Cleveland that Fickell was pressured NOT to start Miller. Essentially, the big wigs at OSU were afraid of creating another TP by giving the starting job to a frosh right away. Looks like poor qb play forced their hand.

If I'm Luke Fickell and that was the case, I would tell them to fuck off, especially if Miller is way better than Bauserman. That means the possible causes for Bauserman starting the year are: what the Cleveland radio people said is true, but Miller isn't too much better, if better at all, or Fickell is a bitch.

Granted, I don't know much about the guys on the radio here aside from their NFL credentials and buckeye ties, but I think essentially Fickell did just tell them to fuck off by starting him this week. If Fickell doesn't win, OSU will be doing a coaching search at the end of the year and I'm afraid they won't have to look far to find some very qualified candidates.

Braxton scares me.  He's young and will make his fair share of mistakes & I'm not sold OSU can win with him THIS year.  But, geez he reminds me an awful lot of Troy Smith.  I'm making an awful big leap assuming he can throw as accurately as Smith did.  But he throws a nice ball and it's easy to see his athleticism.  I feel like he'll give defenses fits once he gets some experience.  I hope I'm dead wrong.

When all is said and done if the Buffs can stay close early on without a defining mistake of some kind then I think they will pull it out.

Buffs - 27

OSU - 23
