That's a tough phone call for anyone to make, and he didn't have to take the responsibility to do it himself, or to do it by phone rather than by mail or e-mail. He'd probably much rather take a few sacks than to have to have that conversation, and the fact that he faced up to it says a lot about his character. He doesn't have to worry, even if something were to happen and he could not play football at all, he'd be a fine addition to the University of Michigan.
