Purdue putting fan pics on helmet for one game this season
Purdue has announced that if you buy into their "VIP card" program, you can submit a picture of yourself to be designed into the P on the helmet for the game vs Iowa.
Dear God, please don't let Dave hear about this idea...
all have mustaches in tribute

Dave Brandon has just realized with the amount of helmet real estate the 'wings' take up, and the deep pockets of donors, there is a new revenue stream to promote.
This is a guy who really cares about his team.
I actually think it's a pretty cool idea and doesnt look bad at all.
Agreed. It just looks like the coloring inside the P has some texture, until you look up close and you maybe see someone you know. On TV or from the stands you won't be able to tell at all, which is the important thing.
... Great use of social media and establishing a connection with your fan base.
Brandon would have wirelessly connected helmets that were constantly rotating UM doner pictures throughout the game.
The Michigan difference!
could resemble macaroni noodles.
(Tangential question: Do we have a term that is used to describe the "stripes" ?)
Edit: They were originally functional straps helping to hold the helmet together.

I always thought 'wings' referred to the entire yellow portion of the helmet.
I think a cooler VIP program would be to enter into a drawing for a fee and the winner gets to kick extra points for a quater, half, etc.
The NCAA would have to test your urine beforehand so they could determine how long to suspend you.
College teams are bound and determined to make the poor Helmet Project guy snap and spend the rest of his life in a white jacket and white room.
